Chapter 762 Not So Lovey Dovey
Chapter 762 Not So Lovey Dovey
Valerie found it interesting that Saorise and Skylar seemed to be secretly competing with each other when it was obviously unnecessary. Skylar was far inferior to Saorise. In terms of popularity and resources, Saorise apparently had the upper hand.
Valerie noticed Skylar's new assistant, Penelope, who took the initiative to say hello to her. However, Valerie shot her a cold glance.
“Why do you need three assistants? Quite an entourage, huh?”
Saying nothing, Skylar could not refute. She had been so free recently that even two assistants were too many, let alone three.
Penelope shook her fists at Valerie's back as the latter left. Skylar tugged at her sleeve and reminded her, “Don't do this, or others will see it. It's better to be more careful in the company.” Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Having spent the whole day with Skylar, Penelope understood her more. Skylar doesn't seem to be in a very good situation. Well, I guess everyone has a problem of their own.
Lord of the Rings was a popular drama with its tentative male lead, Zayn Henderson, who made his stage debut in a talent show. As a famous actor, he remained the top trending topic on Twitter.
His popularity was not due to his performance at the talent show back then. Instead, it was because the drama, Snow City, in which he starred, became the hit of the year half a year ago. It was a drama with two male protagonists. Nowadays, any drama series and movies starring two male protagonists were so lucrative that anyone who starred in them would make money.
As many classic dramas were getting remade in recent years, the audience had been traumatized by the previous remake of Lord of the Rings.
The reason why the current remake drew so much attention even before its filming started was due to its theme and the male lead, Zayn.
On the day of the audition, Skylar auditioned for the role of Quincey Larson.
The director, Larry Zook, was pleased with Skylar's costume fitting and had the idea to get her to change into the costume of Yvonne, but the assistant director reminded, “Skylar's popularity can't be compared with that of Saorise. The investors really wanted Saorise to play the lead role, so should we still get Skylar to try it?”
Skylar had good and versatile acting with expressive eyes.
The difference between Saorise and Skylar was that the former had been acting since she was a child. After acting for a long time, she lost her original ability to give life to her characters, and everything became routine. To put it simply, every role she played looked similar, as she did not put much thought into it. Over time, she would be snubbed by the audience.
Meanwhile, Skylar had not acted in many films and TV shows, but she had a lot of room for improvement in terms of her acting skills. In particular, she played the part earlier with so much passion and vigor that she brought the character to life.
The director sighed as he was not very satisfied with Saorise, who, he thought, was not the right candidate. In his opinion, Saorise did not give him value for money at all.
After the audition, Skylar was told by the director to go home first without telling her the results, as they had to discuss and consider them in a meeting.
Skylar was not familiar with Lord of the Rings and was neutral about the result of the audition. So what if I get the part? I'll just end up being a foil for Saorise. I heard that this remake has huge
changes in the plot. The female lead has a great part, and there's also a lot of romance in it. A fantasy film will now be turned into a romantic film instead, I guess.
Penelope had been following Skylar around. After coming out of the audition venue, Skylar got into the MPV. As she was running out of time, she pulled all the blinds in the MPV close so that she could get changed.
Looking at the speed at which Skylar changed her clothes, Penelope asked, “There's nothing on your schedule tonight. Where are you going?”
After putting on a fleece hoodie, Skylar took off her pants and replied, “I have an appointment tonight, and I'm running late. I can't go out wearing this.”
Penelope, who had been working non-stop with Skylar, found it hard to adapt to such a fast pace, with so many trivial things to be dealt with.
While in the car, she asked, “Won't Tobias call you at all? I don't usually see you contacting each other too.”
Skylar replied, “That's just who he is. He'll only call me when something happens. Do you think he has the time to get lovey-dovey with me? It's impossible.”
