Devlin took a deep breath. “I would like you to come with me to Seattle. Don’t worry, I have already set up your company there, and you even have a branch of your manufacturing business,” he explained, leaving Amber utterly stunned.

“Wait…what?! How did you set up my company in Seattle? I never established any branch there. That’s the last place I wanted to put my company in. Well, before we made up,” she said, revising her words.

Devlin smiled at her widely. “Surprise, babe! When you started your company, I was your first investor – I had someone represent me, and I asked her to never divulge my name.” It was another surprising revelation for Amber. It had never crossed her mind that Devlin would have contributed to her company, especially when she was just starting and they were miles apart. As he gathered his thoughts to tell her, a sudden interruption broke the moment. Marmee’s voice echoed through the garden, calling their names loudly. He decided to tell her later on.

They heard marmee’s footsteps getting close to where they were. “There you are! I have been looking for you around the house. I thought you both had gone somewhere.” Marmee’s face lit up with a smile as she saw them holding hands together.

“I woke up a couple of minutes ago. I only took a nap for half an hour. It has been almost two hours since I woke up. I got busy with the farmers.” Marmee said with a suppressed smile this time.

Amber was pleasantly surprised to realize that she had been engrossed in conversation with Devlin for more than two hours now. Time had flown by so fast. She hadn’t even noticed it passing. His revelations had captured her attention completely, leaving her in deep thoughts of their situation.

“Looks like you two have made up. I am so happy for both of you,” Marmee said, looking at them with great adoration. Amber cheeks slightly turning red. She felt like she was a teenager getting caught with her crush.

“I have you to thank for, marmee. If you hadn’t had that heart-to-heart talk with your granddaughter earlier, I don’t think I have even a slim chance to get back with this lovely lil minx here,” Devlin said while happiness was visible on his face. Amber blushed even more intensely this time.

One can clearly see marmee’s happiness as she witnessed her granddaughter getting back together with her husband. She hopes and prays that they stay committed to each other this time.

She glanced at Devlin, who was beaming with happiness, mirroring marmee’s smile. Amber felt a mix of emotions, wanting to protest but deciding to remain silent. The idea of having a child with the love of her life was undeniably wonderful. She smiled with contentment, setting aside any worries for the time being.
