ALPHA ROBIN'S POV

I was not going to wait for him to inquire and try to find out what happened, hence I grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the house. "Let go!" He huffed in anger as he tried to release his hand.

"What the fuck was that? I thought that we had talked about this," I told him.

"Don't make this about your ego. I know what I saw. The girl was seriously ill, how come she is perfectly fine, huh?" The Beta asked.

"Are you trying to accuse me of something? I don't think you are generally concerned about the girl and her recovery," I said.

"She is a witch, I know it," The Beta was almost certain.

"Now that you know so many things, give me the name of the person who attacked her. I told you to maintain peace in our pack but from the look of things, you are failing at it," I warned him. "No, don't do that, let's talk about the real issue at hand," Beta said..

"No, let's talk about how you are not competent in your work. " I said.

"Stop it! Stop what you are doing. I wonder why you keep on defending this girl. She is not supposed to be here, she is supposed to leave the pack, "He said.

" Worry about your position and leave the girl to me, I know what I am doing," I told him.

"What about the healer, what should I tell him?" He asked.

"What do you think?" I asked him back before walking away. That was a simple question that he needed to have figured out.

I understood why the Beta didn't want me to be dating a witch but I didn't want to believe that she was a witch. She would have said it to me. She wouldn't have hidden something as powerful as that. I trusted her, I was not going to doubt her simply because the beta had his own doubts.

The Beta had walked away feeling dissatisfied with my replies. I hoped that he would mind his business and stop poking his nose at my affair with Anita. He will be starting war if he does that. I am trying to protect my position at all costs. I am not going to give up the Alpha title very easily even if he clocked my secret. I had to protect my secret at all costs.

I paced around the room as I waited for him to come back. I had missed him already plus I was actually interested in what the Beta was talking about.

When he finally walked in through the front door, I was so excited. I couldn't help but smile to myself. He had a poker face on but that did not stop me from asking the question that bugged me.

"What was that? I thought that we are way past this!" He said firmly before I could even talk to him. He was breathing heavily and I could tell that he was pissed.

"What are you talking about?" I asked innocently, as I walked to where he was seated, looking away as if lost in thoughts.

"Don't ever challenge my authority like that again. If you dare come between me and my leadership then I am sorry to say this but you will see a side of me that will not be pretty," He said and I found myself feeling scared.

My heart skipped a mighty beat. I never expected this from him, I had thought that things were cool and casual between us but as it turns out, I am wrong.

"I didn't mean to do that," I apologised. Tears welled in my eyes. I felt that I had disappointed him. He had finally decided that I should be with him at his quarters and instead of returning the favour and being a good girlfriend, I am here trying to question his authority in front of the Beta.

"Let this be the last time that we are talking about this," He said.

"I am really sorry. I promise to never undermine your authority ever again," I promised.

I looked at him with pleading eyes, hoping that he would let this go and we would be cool and happy together and my charm worked.

After blowing several breaths, he got off his seat and came to hug me tightly before placing a kiss on my forehead then on my lips.

"Go sit in bed, I will prepare a fruit bowl for you. I want to ensure that you are perfectly fine," He said.

Of course I wanted to follow him around and just watch him do things for me but I had to pull shreds of control. This could be the first test to gauge if I am actually listening to him and I needed to listen to him and prove to him that I am the girl he wants me to be.

I sat on the bed, next to the headboard and tucked myself in. In a couple of minutes, he came back with a bowl of fruits and yoghurt and started feeding me.

I ate the pineapples, picking them with my teeth from the fork seductively. All along, I had locked my eyes with him.

I know that he thinks that I am probably weak for him to make love to me but I was ready. Thinking about him pumping inside me made me wet and hot. I was so in love with him and nothing else mattered when we were together. It was just the two of us against the world. He delayed feeding me and that is when I realised that he had zoned out. He was thinking about something way too deeply and I was interested to know.
