Chapter 3
Chapter 3
"Lisa, Lisa," exclaimed Bruce who was Lisa's father and a group of men consisting of police and rescue
teams.
They all walked in the dim night, sharpening and focusing their eyes to find the girl's whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Sean and a few policemen wait at the edge of the cliff.
Bruce hopes that Lisa is safe and that nothing bad happens to her. The man's thoughts and feelings
were very chaotic. If something happened to her daughter, he would never be able to forgive himself.
They descended the cliff slowly through a path that could only be passed by one person using safety
equipment. The condition of the path is quite dangerous with wet and slippery ground conditions.
Several men from the rescue team led the way in front of which Bruce was included, then-Sheriff Webb
and one of his men followed behind. The fog under the abyss was very thick.
Not unyielding, they all continued to walk down the cliff, although the more they walked towards the
bottom of the abyss, the dense fog increasingly covered their visibility. Until finally, the rescue team
leader gave up and called out to all of them, “The fog is too thick, it's too risky. How about continuing
the search tomorrow morning when the sun starts to rise and the fog clears up?”
Sheriff Webb looked at Bruce and waited for his answer saying, “He's right, Bruce. It's too risky, even
though I know you're worried about Lisa. However, our lives are all in danger if we continue the search
tonight. The decision is in your hands."
Bruce was silent and didn't say anything. He gazed into the bottom of the misty abyss. On the one
hand, he wants to find Lisa as soon as possible, but he can't be selfish by sacrificing many lives.
"Okay, I agree. Let's go back and continue the search tomorrow morning," Bruce said.
Then Sheriff Webb called out to everyone, "Let's get back and continue the search tomorrow morning
when the sun is just starting to rise."
They all went back up the cliff. That night the search was stopped, they all returned to the temporary
base located at the edge of the forest. Bruce walked side by side with Sean, and then the boy looked
back and mumbled, "Lisa, please hang on."
The two of them walked at a slow pace while looking straight into the darkness of the forest. Everything
felt like a dream that passed very quickly. Just a few days ago, Lisa and Sean arrived in Stowe Town
and now bad things happened to both of them.
Arriving at the temporary base, Sheriff Webb intends to interrogate Sean about what happened to him
and Lisa. Then, he walked over to Bruce who was sitting alone in the corner of the room pensive. At
that time, Bruce and Sean were sitting separately.
Sheriff Webb sat beside Bruce and touched the man's shoulder.
“Bruce, how are you? I have to interrogate your son, is that all right?” asked Sheriff Webb.
"I'm worried about Lisa, I'm afraid she won't survive, they entered the forbidden forest, and you know
about it too, right?" Bruce replied sadly.
"Yes, I know. Bruce, I promise you, we'll find Lisa in the morning. Do you trust me?” asked Sheriff
Webb.
"Yes. Do what you have to do, Webb."
Sean, who was sitting on the couch overlooking the window, could hear the conversation between his This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
father and Sheriff Webb. He was quite curious about what they said “that thing”. Sean was sure there
was something his father and Sheriff Web were hiding.
Then, Bruce and Sheriff Webb approached Sean. They sat opposite each other. It didn't take long for
Sheriff Webb to ask a question.
"Sean, tell us, what happened?" asked Sheriff Webb curiously.
Bowing his head and looking the other way, the young boy told the story that he and his older sister
were walking at the edge of the forest with one of their friends, Jessy, driving Jessy's car.
Moments later, Lisa saw a white wolf passing through the trees. Curiosity overtook the girl, then she
invited Sean and Jessy to enter the forest and follow the white wolf. Even though they were afraid and
reluctant, the two of them still accompanied Lisa into the forest.
Just a few steps walking, Jessy got a call into her cellphone, it turned out that her grandmother asked
her to come back immediately and take her to the hospital. Reluctantly, Jessy left the two of them in the
forest. But, Jessy promised to come back soon to pick them up when they got back from the hospital.
At that moment, the two of them separated. Lisa and Sean went further into the woods, while Jessy
returned to her grandmother's house. As the sky grew dark, Lisa lost track of the white wolf and they
both got lost in the middle of the forest. Until finally, they heard the sound of wolves howling in large
numbers and very long. Honestly, the howl sounded scary.
Lisa invited her brother to find out the origin of the voice. Then, the two of them walked towards the
source of the voice and from behind the trees, they watched the fight between two large groups of
beasts that were large, exceeding the size of a dog, but with sharp fangs and eyes, and hideous grins.
Lisa and Sean realized that they shouldn't be there. They were in the wrong place and time and lives
are at stake. Both of them became panicked and frightened. Then, Sean took Lisa away and ran away
from the place.
As the two of them stepped away from the battle arena, a wolf who was not far from their hiding place
realized that a human was watching their fight. The wolf looked at the two and walked over to them.
Lisa and Sean who knew that they had become the target of a wolf then ran as fast as possible without
looking back. They were so scared that they went further into the forest. Until finally, they were pushed
to the edge of the cliff, and just as the white wolf was about to attack them, a brown wolf came and
attacked the white wolf.
However, due to the imbalance of power, the brown wolf and Lisa were pushed into the abyss.
Meanwhile, Sean didn't know why Jessy didn't come back and picked them up.
“Sean, Jessy was asked to accompany her grandmother until the evening. When she took her
grandmother home, I called her and asked where you were. She said if both of you entered into a
forbidden forest. When I heard that, I panicked and was scared, so I called everyone," Bruce said.
“Forbidden forest? We didn't see a sign telling us this was a forbidden forest,” Sean replied.
“Why is this forest called the forbidden forest? Jessy didn't say anything to us," Sean asked.
