CHAPTER 43
Amber’s POV
I was frightened when Tom became physical with me. He seemed so angry and I didn’t know how to calm him down. I could feel his tense energy radiating off him like a wave.
One morning, while I was preparing for his meal, he suddenly came into the kitchen and grabbed my wrist. Then, his grip on my arm tightened, making me wince in pain. He didn’t say anything for a while, and I could feel his anger building up inside him.
When he finally spoke, his voice was low and menacing. “You shouldn’t have done that,” he growled.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered, hoping to calm him down. But it only seemed to make him angrier.
“I don’t want to hear your apologies,” he spat. “You know what you did, and you’re going to pay for it!”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to pull away from him, but his grip on me was too strong. I knew I was in trouble, and I didn’t know how to get out of it. Then, he dragged me through my hair, from the kitchen, up to the living room.
Tom pushed me roughly inside and threw me onto the couch. He paced back and forth, muttering to himself in anger. I was terrified, not knowing what he was going to do next.
Finally, he turned to me with a sneer on his face. “You’re going to regret what you did,” he said before punching the wall next to me.
I flinched, hoping he wouldn’t hit me next. But then, he abruptly left the room without another word, leaving me there alone and trembling with fear. Just like every time he would get physical with me, he would just leave after the deed.
I was devastated when Tom became enraged with me. It seemed like everything I did was wrong in his eyes. He would become angry over the smallest things, and his temper was becoming increasingly violent. I felt trapped and suffocated in our home, unable to leave or express my feelings.
I couldn’t help but wonder if I had made the right decision in marrying him. Despite his wealth and status, I was miserable and constantly walking on eggshells around him. I didn’t want to live my life in fear of my own husband.
I knew that I needed to find a way out of this situation, but I didn’t know how. I felt like I had no one to turn to and nowhere to go.
But then, I was so surprised to see Dale outside the gate, and my heart was pounding fast. I knew that my husband, Tom, would not be happy about it. However, I couldn’t help but feel relieved to see Dale, the man who had always been there for me.
I tried to hide the fact that I saw Dale outside our home, but someone probably saw him loitering in the vicinity and informed Tom about it. As soon as Tom learned about Dale’s arrival, he became even more furious. He accused me of calling Dale and inviting him to Clayland. I tried to explain that I had no idea about his visit, but Tom wouldn’t listen to me.
One day, Dale managed to enter our home without anyone noticing him. He was shocked to see me in such a miserable state, but he should have expected it. After all, the man I married was just a stranger.
Dale and I talked in private, and he could see how miserable and scared I was. He told me that he would do everything he could to help me and that I didn’t have to be afraid anymore. His words gave me a glimmer of hope, and I felt a little bit better.
However, when Tom found out that Dale and I talked, he flew into a rage. I had no idea there were several cameras inside our home, monitoring my every movement. He accused me of cheating on him with Dale and beat me again. I was so scared and hopeless, and I didn’t know what to do.
Despite everything, I knew that I had to be strong and keep fighting while waiting for Dale to come again and rescue me from Tom Summers.
“Tom, I didn’t call Dale for help,” I said firmly, trying to stay calm despite the accusations.
“I don’t believe you,” he spat back at me, his face twisted in anger. “You’re always sneaking around, talking to my brothers or any other man behind my back.”
“That’s not true,” I protested. “I haven’t seen any of your brothers in weeks.”
“I don’t care,” he growled, stepping closer to me. “You’re lying to me, Amber. I know you’re up to something.”
“I’m not lying,” I said, feeling a knot form in my stomach. “I haven’t talked to Dale or anyone else.”
Tom glared at me for a few more seconds before finally turning and storming out of the room. When he returned, there was a bullwhip on his hand. My hands trembled as I saw it with my eyes. I have already experienced the pain from his bullwhip, and I did not want to go through it ever again.
“No, Tom, please don’t hit – ”
I was not able to finish my sentence when the tail of his bullwhip already touched my skin. I winced in pain, but it seemed he was enjoying inflicting pain on me. He laughed while he continued to lash at my skin.
I screamed in pain but he was deaf to my request. He just went on hitting me, until I was weak enough to dodge his every attack. With the current downpour outside, even if I would scream, nobody would hear me, and even if somebody would hear me, no one would give a damn.
Nobody was brave enough to go against Tom Summers in Clayland. Almost everyone knew he was abusing me, but no one dared to call him out for his violence. With each lash, I became hopeless. Tears welled up in the corner of my eyes, but they refused to leave my eyes yet.
“Stop it, Tom Summers!”
Someone shouted and stopped Tom from lashing into my skin again. My body was so weak from the beating that I got from him, that I almost failed to recognize Dale in his black hoodie. His hair was drenched so he probably came in a hurry, knowing that Tom would not waste another minute hurting me.
I was overjoyed when Dale arrived. His presence brought me hope and comfort amidst the difficult situation with my husband. I had been feeling trapped and alone, with no one to turn to for help. But now, with Dale by my side, I felt like I had a lifeline to cling onto.
For the first time in a long time, I felt like I had someone who would stand up for me and protect me from harm. Dale’s visit gave me the strength and courage to confront Tom and demand that he stop hurting me.
Dale saw red and almost killed my husband with his bare hands. Without any preamble, he took me away, and warned my husband not to look for me, or it would mean his death.
My heart almost leaped out of my chest when Dale rescued me once again but I wished he came sooner. I had already suffered enough at the hands of my husband.
I was so happy when he arrived to save me. My heart leaped with joy as I saw him coming towards me. I had been waiting for what felt like an eternity, hoping and praying that he would come to my rescue.
As he approached, I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and all of my worries had vanished. I felt safe and protected in his presence.
When he finally reached me, I threw my arms around him and held on tight. I couldn’t believe that he had come all this way just to save me. It was the happiest moment of my life, and I knew that I would always be grateful to him for rescuing me from danger.
“Thank you so much for coming to save me. I was so scared, Dale,” I cried in front of him.
“Don’t worry, I’m here now. Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m okay. I was just really scared and I didn’t know what to do.”
“You don’t have to be scared anymore. I’m here to take care of you, Amber,” he said.
“I don’t know how to thank you,” I told him.
“You don’t have to thank me. I’m just glad that I could help you, after all, partly, this is my fault,” he owned up to his mistake.
“I was afraid I would never see you again. I thought he would kill me!”
“You’ll always see me again. I promise.”
“I’m so glad you came. You’re my hero. You have always been my hero, Dale.”
“I just did what I had to do.”
“You’re more than a hero to me. You’re my everything,” I told him but he chose to be silent for a moment. When he opened his mouth to speak, I thought he would just tell me something so bland.
“And you’re everything to me too. Let’s get out of here and go home.”
I was surprised when he told me he was taking me to his vacation house again.
As we drove, he told me stories about the house and the memories he had made there. I could see the excitement in his eyes as he spoke, and it made me feel happy to be a part of his world once again. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
When we arrived, I was stunned by the beauty of the place. The air was fresh and crisp, and I felt my worries melting away as soon as we stepped out of the car.
As we explored the house, he showed me all of his favorite spots and shared more stories with me. We sat by the fireplace and watched the flames dance as he told me about the time he caught a huge fish in the ocean. We sat on the porch swing and watched the sunset together, enjoying the peacefulness of the moment.
It was a magical experience being at his vacation house with him. I felt like I was in a different world, away from all of the stresses and chaos of everyday life. And being there with him made it even more special.
As we sat on the porch swing, watching the sunset over the horizon, he turned to me with a serious look on his face.
“I need to tell you something,” he said, taking my hand in his. “I’m in love with you.”
I was stunned. I had never thought of him declaring his feelings that fast.
“I love you too,” I said, my heart pounding in my chest.
He smiled, and the tension melted away between us. We sat there for a while longer, talking about our feelings and what it all meant.
Being at the vacation house, surrounded by nature and the beauty of the world, made it feel like the perfect place to declare our love for each other. It was a moment that I would never forget, and one that would always hold a special place in my heart.
We were in love, and we would spend the rest of our lives exploring the world and creating new memories together. Our story was a whirlwind of emotion, full of ups and downs, but in the end, we found our happy ending.
After Dale declared his love for me at the vacation house, we spent the rest of the trip exploring the beauty of the woods and the lake, and the ocean. We laughed, we talked, we kissed, and we made memories that would last a lifetime.
When we returned home, we started dating officially, and it was like a dream come true. We were so in love, and it felt like nothing could ever come between us.
We went on trips, tried new things, and supported each other through all of life’s challenges. And through it all, our love only grew stronger.
Years went by, and we decided to take the next step in our relationship. Dale proposed to me on a beautiful beach, and I said yes without hesitation.
We had a beautiful wedding, surrounded by our family and friends. We danced the night away, and as we looked into each other’s eyes, we knew that we were meant to be together forever.
Now, we’ve been happily married for many years. We’ve traveled the world together, raised a family, and created a beautiful life together.
Our love story wasn’t always easy, but it was worth every moment. Dale is my soul mate, my partner, and my best friend. And I know that as long as we have each other, we’ll always find our way back to happiness.
