Chapter 17: Forcing Her To Drink
Before saying these words, Luz was prepared for rejection.
Unexpectedly, Bobby only considered her words for a while before nodding in agreement. "Yeah, I'm
free now. I can give you 20 minutes."
Luz immediately took the opportunity to invite Mr. Harper to sit down and have a good talk in the rest
area nearby. The two of them walked side by side.
Unbeknownst to her, a pair of dark eyes were fixed on her. He had such a tight grip on the glass in his
hand he almost shattered it.
The person standing next to Henry shuddered in the cold aura that he was exuding. "Mr Maynard, are
you okay?"
Henry took back his gaze and resumed an indifferent expression. "I'm fine," he answered.
Luz had the contract and a pen with her while she explained the terms exactly as outlined in the
contract. She was bent over the table slightly, with her arm resting on the coffee table. Bobby's eyes
glanced over her neckline.
The longer he watched, the more his gaze burned with lust.
"That's it, Mr Harper." Luz straightened up and reached out to push her hair behind her ears. Her
beautiful face became more charming and dazzling under the light. "If there's anything you need to
negotiate about the terms, just let me know. I can talk to my boss about it."
Mr Harper picked up the contract and pretended to read it. He seemed to think it was very good.
He nodded. "The conditions you offered are indeed good, but your company is now bankrupt. It's very
risky to cooperate with you."
"You don't have to worry. MR will never go bankrupt." Luz smiled confidently. "Mr Maynard is now in
charge of the company. I believe you know about Mr Maynard's ability. We will definitely be more
successful than Diamond Entertainment in the future!"

Bobby was stunned and joked, "You have confidence in your CEO."
"It's because Mr Maynard is very capable. Everyone in the company trusts him. As his head secretary, I
have to be confident in his abilities."
"You're a sweet talker. Mr Harper has got a good eye for great employees," Bobby said laughingly. He
called a waiter over and ordered three bottles of red wine.
The waiter brought over the wine as ordered. Bobby pointed at the uncorked bottles and looked at Luz.
"I will sign the contract if you finish all three bottles of wine here!"
Luz frowned, feeling a little irritated.
Mr Harper had been going back and forth with her all this time. Did he intend to force her to drink under
the pressure of the contract?
Mr Harper sighed and smiled apologetically when Luz did not answer. "Ms Boone, if you can't drink,
that's fine too. Our 20 minutes is almost up. I have other matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave now."
"No, it's fine. I can drink," Luz said, gritting her teeth. She picked up a bottle and filled her glass.
Red wine was relatively low in alcohol content, so she wasn't too worried.
Luz gulped down glass after glass of wine in front of Bobby. Her actions startled a lot of people in the
gala. They thought she had gone insane. Why was this woman drinking wine like she was drinking
water?
Even Henry, who was standing in the corner, frowned slightly and looked a little colder.
In less than half an hour, Luz finished three bottles of red wine.
Apart from a little colour in her cheeks, she did not look drunk. She was still perfectly conscious. She
handed the contract and pen to Bobby. "I've finished all the wine, so now you should keep your
promise, Mr Harper."
Bobby's face twisted slightly. He did not expect her to be so sober even after drinking three bottles of
wine.
But he had already made a promise, so he had no choice but to sign the contract.
After signing, Bobby inched closed to Luz. He was about to say something when a huge figure loomed
over them, casting a cold aura that made him shiver.
"Mr Harper, long time no see."
The deep voice made Luz tremble slightly. She lowered her head and put the signed contract back into
her back. When she stood up, she stumbled slightly as she left hastily.
