Evershining Stars, Everlasting Love

Chapter 14 She's My Girlfriend

Chapter 14 She's My Girlfriend

Vince took me to the wine party.

We walked along the red carpet, walked pass the arch that made by flowers, then walked across the backyard that decorated as a beautiful garden. We came to the huge Villa Hall of Ouyang's house, which was decorated luxuriously and was very lively.

Vince and I arrived late. But as soon as we arrived, we attracted people’s attention. I could feel the love and the affection in the eyes of the woman at the reception. I pursed my lips and chuckled, quietly leaned against Vince’s ear and jokingly said, “Your luck in love tonight seems to be very prosperous.”

“It’s always been like this.” He turned his face and gave me a confident smile.

Yes, Vince was a man full of charm. Until now, I even felt that I was living in a dream. Would such an excellent man belong to me forever?

In fact, I had thought about the answer. I couldn’t even conquer a man like Jerry, let alone Vince, who was hundreds of times better than Jerry.

And I saw him in the crowd as well.

Jerry brought Duo Lian to the reception. Duo's belly was bigger than last time when I saw her. Her light pink fluffy dress made her look chubbier.

She was not tall, and she smiled at me with happiness, while leaning on Jerry’s arm.

I felt so complicated. It was not because I was unhappy while seeing this, but because I thought I shouldn’t come to such a part for the first place. If someone I knew saw me and asked me about this, I

had no idea how to explain it.

Vince’s big hand suddenly covered my hand. I was stunned and suddenly looked back at him. He tilted his head to me and whispered, “You have to let go the past.”

“Am I the kind of woman that cannot let go?” I pursed my lips, kept a beautiful and decent smile. I answered softly. I am Nance, I am noble and aloof. Although my family had no strong background, my temperament was not inferior to anyone.

“That’s good then.” He stopped, took a glass of wine from the waiter’s plate and handed it over to me. I didn’t take it and said, “I don’t want to drink.”

“Okay.” Vince, holding a goblet, gently shook the red wine and sipped it. Just as he was about to talk to me, an acquaintance came over.

"Vince, you come here so late, you should be punished with three drinks." A middle-aged man, balding in the forehead, walked up to Vince with a kind smile, followed by a beautiful young woman.

"Uncle Ouyang is really good at joking. Today's protagonist is Ouyang family, not me." Vince did a good job of this kind of business etiquette.

I stood quietly aside, thinking, this should be Ouyang family's biggest boss, the girl behind that should be his daughter.

"Qi, have you not been looking for Vince all the time tonight? Now that he is here, why don't you come here to propose a toast?" Kun Ouyang raised eyebrows to remind Qi Ouyang behind him. Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Qi gracefully stepped forward and gave a charming smile to Vince. After the wine glass touched, Qi said sweetly, "brother Vince, long time no see, you become more handsome than before."

Vince smiled at Qi and said, “I am flattered.”

As soon as he finished his words, Qi's face suddenly turned to me. She looked suspiciously at my hand, which was on Vince's wrist and asked, "Who is this lady?”

"She is my girlfriend." The introduction from Vince not only shocked Qi, I could clearly see the loss in her eyes, at the same time, his answer also surprised me.

In fact, he could only say that I was his companion. I'm not that kind of woman who once slept with a man and had to make that man responsible for me. I won’t cry and beg people not to leave me. I had always trusted only one truth, begging for love is neither long-term means, nor a happy ending.

On hearing the introduction, Kun looked at me up and down in a strange way and asked, "This lady seems so familiar. Have we met before?"

I gave Kun a polite smile. As soon as I was about to answer, I heard Jerry's voice.

"Her name is Nance. She used to be a model, and was also my..." Jerry led Duo forward, looked at me, raised his eyebrows, smirked sarcastically, and continued, “She is also my ex-wife.”

As soon as he finished those words, the harmonious atmosphere was frozen.

I glared at Jerry angrily. I knew that he was deliberately trying to upset Vince. The implication was that I was picked up by Vince that he didn’t want and threw me away like an old shoe.

I endured my anger and bit my teeth. If it wasn't for this special occasion, I would definitely give him a slap.
