After separating from Danny, Ari drove her car and arrived at the Nelson Corporation. Ari looked up at the many floors of the building and though Ari was the wife of the CEO of this company, she had never stepped foot inside this building.
Thus, this building was just as much of a mystery for Ari as it was for any pedestrian on the streets of Lonest. Now that was a bit clear-headed and was no longer thinking with her love-struck side, Ari knew that she should have done this long ago.
She should have listened to her dignified side and thrown these papers on Noah’s face after six months of marriage. That bastard even refused to fulfil his basic responsibilities as her husband, what made her believe that he would warm up to her?
But it did not matter, now that Ari was here, she had put herself in an irreversible position.
It was a good thing too because if she had another choice, she would have picked up the bad one. Her poor decision-making skills were the reasons why she was in this situation anyway.
“Let’s get this over with,” Ari muttered to herself as she entered the Nelson corporation while clutching the divorce agreement, which she had already signed.
The glass doors opened on their own as Ari walked past the guard, who took a double take when she walked past him. This was something that men did a lot when they saw her, but Ari did not believe that she was good-looking, her sister often told her that she looked like a low-class hooker because of her extravagant curves and those curves were the only reason men looked at her.
This was the reason Ari typically wore baggy dresses, but after what Ariel did last night, she decided to ditch those baggy dresses. A woman who could kiss her sister’s husband could not be trusted.
The only reason she continued with those dresses anyway was because of the curses, blame and jeers that Ari often carried on her shoulders like baggage since she grew up.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
No sooner did she step inside in her light blue sundress, Ari garnered the attention of the people in the lobby. She caught a hint of envy according to the receptionist but chose to ignore it. Instead, she pressed her hands on the reception table and then said, “I would like to see Mr. Nelson.”
Though she never appeared in the company because Noah did not welcome her, Ari was well known in the Nelson company as when she and Noah got married, the company posted a photo of them with blessings written in the caption.
Those blessings were just as empty as their marriage.
The receptionist nodded, and with her sharp gaze, she noticed the divorce agreement in the hands of Ari or more like Ari did not hide it. She wanted the world to know that she was divorcing the great Noah Nelson.
The woman behind the reception called Noah’s personal secretary, who picked up the call on the third ring.
“What is the matter, Violet?” A man answered from the other side in a polite voice.
Violet looked at Ari who looked like a woman too determined to hear ‘no’ and said, “Brandon, Miss Ariana is here to talk to Mister Noah. She has something serious to say to him.” She did not tell Brandon that Ari was here to talk about divorce.
Brandon on the other side of the phone furrowed his thick brown brows and then stated, “Mister Nelson is busy currently, tell Miss Ariana that she can come later, or maybe she can talk to Mister Noah at home?” He was not lying, Noah was indeed speaking with one of his clients.
However, no sooner did he finish speaking, Ari snatched the phone from Violet and then said, “Hello Brandon, is Mister Nelson too busy to sign on a paper?”
Brandon was stunned when he heard Ari’s cold voice, but what surprised him even more was that Ari called Noah ‘Mister Nelson’ instead of husband. Everyone in the company knew that Ari loved Noah so much that she never used any other term than ‘husband’ when addressing him.
He sensed that something was amiss with Ari and tentatively asked, “Which paper are you talking about, Miss Ari?”
“Divorce papers,” sneered Ari. “Tell your boss that I am here to fulfil his dream, so ask him to take a few minutes out for me.”
No sooner did she finish speaking, than the sounds of something falling echoed in the phone, and Ari frowned.
Brandon could not be blamed. He never thought that he would hear the words ‘divorce papers’ from Ari’s mouth. Ari loved Noah so much that she wished she could carry him in the palm of her hands, and now she was saying that she was here to divorce him.
What was happening? Did the sun rise from the west?
He snatched his phone from the floor and then whispered in the speaker before saying to Ari, “Miss Ari, this is not a matter of joke. Please think carefully.” Though Noah did not believe that Ari was a good woman, Brandon knew that Ari was the perfect woman for Noah.
She did not get jealous, did not create a fuss and supported her husband.
She was the perfect Mrs. Nelson! What did Mister Nelson do for Ari to talk about divorce?
“Brandon, hand Noah the phone,” Ari, however, did not want to listen to anything. She had three years to think, and she had thought enough. Now it was time for her to decide for herself.
When Brandon heard Ari’s stern voice, he knew that Noah was doomed.
He lit up a candle for his friend in his heart and then walked inside the office.
Though Noah was speaking with the client, he was also paying attention to Brandon, he noticed the stern expression on his assistant’s face and thus excused himself before walking over to where Brandon was and asked, “What’s the matter?”
“It’s Miss Ari…she says that she is here with the divorce agreement.”
