Chapter 382
Alex abruptly grabbed Ty's hand, "What's the rush? I wanna know too, how much you'd get rated."
Ty clenched his teeth in frustration, "Oh, so you're done playing dumb?"
Alex offered a smile, "Let's not change the subject. I'm actually quite curious about this answer."
Quinn gnashed her teeth in irritation, damn it, were they treating her like she was invisible?
Stretching out her leg, she kicked both of them, "You both wanna know so bad, huh? Well, I'm not in the mood to tell anymore. If you're that curious, go out and hire an escort to find out for yourselves." Both guys instantly deflated, with Ty muttering, "How could I? I'm a clean guy, you're all I need. But Alex, maybe he should go try..."
Alex just chuckled.
The next few rounds mostly saw Ty winning, with Alex occasionally claiming a game, and Quinn always losing.
Quinn's eyes were almost red from losing. If this had been for real money, she figured she'd literally be losing her pants.
Alex laid down his final card, turning to Quinn. "I don't really have any issues, just some things I'd like to talk to you about. I hope you'll hear me out."
"What if I don't want to?" Ty tossed his cards down in protest.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
"That doesn't matter!"
Quinn couldn't quite pin down her feelings for Alex. Friends, maybe once, but now... was that still the case?
Or exes? They had never really gotten that far in the past.
Quinn laid her cards down, "Go ahead, say it."
Alex looked at her earnestly, "I've been in a fog these past days. I've been trying to forget you, but the more I try, the harder it seems. I've thrown myself into work because that's the only time my mind feels at peace. But once I'm off work, I'm lost, not knowing what to do with myself."
Ty scoffed, "Lost... you should just get lost for real!"
Alex managed a bitter smile, "I know it sounds cheesy, and I'm not asking for your sympathy. I just wanted to
talk to you. I can't seem to let you I
go, like a part of me will always
remember, that memory."
"I went back looking for you, but you had already left. I'm sorry, I was too late. I'm not trying to force anything, but... can we just be friends? Regular friends."
Ty laughed sarcastically, "Regular friends? Don't make me laugh. Is there ever just 'regular' between men and women?"
He turned to Quinn, "What if I said I wanted to be 'just friends' with you, would you believe me?"
Quinn gave him a sidelong glance, "The kind of friends who wake up together? Really?"
"Ah, you're so smart," Ty said, leaning in to steal a kiss.
After kissing her, he raised an eyebrow at Alex: I dare to kiss and tell, do you?
Quinn pushed Ty's head away.
"Thank you for saving me today. If you think we can be just friends... then let's leave it at that."
Quinn felt grateful towards Alex. Back in those dark days, they had supported each other to get through. Even if there was no love, the bond formed through adversity couldn't be erased.
Ty frowned, "I saved you today too. Why don't you thank me?"
Quinn wrapped her arms around his neck, kissed him, then momentarily let go and patted his head, "Good boy."
