Enchanted Nightfall: Falling for Destiny

Chapter 317

Quintessa couldn't help but let out a laugh when she heard that. She probably hadn't met anyone cuter than Mrs. York in a long while.

Turning around, she nodded, "Yes, you're right. Sometimes, he's not all that bad."

"Oh, so you?"

Quintessa cut Mrs. York off, "Let's not go there. Everyone knows what I'm about. Him and I, we're just fooling around, nothing serious. Getting real? Maybe, that's a game neither of us can afford to play. Thanks, though for not judging me like everyone else."

"You!"

"I've gotta go."

Watching Quintessa close the door behind her, Mrs. York sighed. Deep down, she was conflicted. This girl, with all her personal baggage, wasn't really a match for her son. But her son was smitten, and she didn't dislike her either.

But really, she shouldn't be worried. The girl clearly wasn't interested in him.

Peering into Quintessa's room, Mrs. York noted the sparse belongings. Even her makeup collection was smaller than hers, not to mention her son's things scattered about.

Mrs. York smirked. She knew her son all too well - he was picky and fastidious to a fault. And yet, here he was, willing to live in such a place, getting kicked out of the room time and again without a word of complaint. What did that tell anyone? It was clear as day, except to her oblivious son.

If settling down with this girl meant that her son could finally find some happiness, then so be it.

Sometimes, this girl wasn't half bad!

Upon returning, Tyrone found only his mother, "Mom, where is she?"

Mrs. York frowned, "What, you only got her in your eyes?"

"No, mom, please tell me. Where is she?"

"She's at the studio."

Dropping some groceries on the table, Tyrone said, "Eat something, Mom. I'm heading over to the studio." "Why on earth for?"

Without hesitation, Tyrone replied, "To bring her unch. You don't know it, but she fainted the other day. The doctor mentioned she's

malnourished, so she had been constantly exhausted, and had severe gastritis. She can't skip breakfast, especially not with today's heat. I'm worried she won't hold up."

Mrs. York stared at Tyrone in surprise. Hearing such caring and considerate words from her son moved her deeply. Her son was finally learning to be less 'selfish'.

Tyrone had always been a bit twisted, since he grew up with his father absent and had been coddled by everyone around him. From a young age, he had a streak of coldness and aggression.

Mrs. York had been worried about him, especially during his rebellious teenage years, when his life was filled with fights. As he grew older he learned to control it, but part of his nature remained unchanged. He wasn't one to care or show empathy, but now, she finally saw a change.

Mrs. York said softly, "Son, have you ever thought about why you're so concerned for her? Think about it. What do you really want? If you continge like this, not making your head clear, you'dl only be led to trouble."

Tyrone paused, then nodded, "I'll think it over. You should rest. Oh, and what did she say to you?"

There was a glint in Mrs. York's eye, "Nothing much. Just mentioned that my son could be a good catch and maybe worth considering. Oh, and she did say, at times, you're not too bad."
