Chapter 33 A Couple in Name

Allison was dumbfounded upon hearing the word ‘wife’, and felt it ridiculous soon.

She was indeed Alexander’s wife, but was just a wife a name. Who the heck was Elaine Hunter? She

had been kept in dark of her existence from the very beginning.

Allison felt even more upset when she thought of this. Plus her temperament as she just got up from

the bed, she suddenly got a nerve. She shifted her gaze and murmured, “Just a couple in name…”

As Alexander was sitting beside the bed, he heard it clearly although her voice was tiny. He frowned

and tightened his grip of her hand, “Who said we’re just a couple in name?”

They done everything what should be done between the husband and wife. How could they be

regarded as a couple in name?

Allison retorted in a fit of pique, “I said it.”

But when she was speaking, she didn’t dare to look into his eyes. Suddenly, he pinched her jaw and

turned her head aside, and therefore she saw his perfect handsome face.

Although Allison got chances to get along with Alexander in usual times, it was the first time for her to

look into his eyes in such a close distance. Moreover, they were all sober now. She was flustered at the

Alexander interrupted her, “We’ve done everything that should be done between the husband and wife.

Why shouldn’t we be regarded as a real couple?”

Allison’s heart skipped one beat and her face flushed as she couldn’t help recalling the sex they had in

Alexander looked over and said with Allison in his arms, “Mom, Dad, I did something wrong today and

angered Alice. I explained to her and now we’ve gotten over you. I’ll bring her home now. Don’t worry.”

“Okay, good, good.” Jennifer immediately stood up and walked over. She beamed when glancing at

Allison who was in Alexander’s arms, “Alice, be magnanimous. You should be clear of your identity

now.”

Allison buried her head in Alexander’s arms, fearing that her parents might see her red face and simply

replied with a hum.

Jennifer wanted to exhort her furthermore, but was stopped by Don. Don glanced at Alexander and

Allison, and said in a soft voice, “All right, now that the dispute is settled, you two can go back now. It

would be late soon and it would become inconvenient.”

“Okay, then we’ll go back first.”

After finishing the words, Alexander walked out of the house with Allison in his arms. Jennifer sent

put me down?”

Alexander curled his lips into a light smile and asked, “You didn’t wear your shoes. Are you sure you

want me to put you down?”

Allison finally realized this with his reminder. He had carried her from the bed and thus she didn’t have

time to put on her shoes.

“But… You can’t carry me all the way, right?”

Alexander kept striding forward, “Why can’t I? You sprained your ankle and it’s best for you not to wear

shoes.”

Allison was rendered speechless and kept silent.

Alexander traversed the community with her in his embrace. When they stood by the side of the car,

Bernard had gotten off the car and opened the door for them.

Alexander carefully put Allison onto the backseat before getting on the car and asking Bernard to set

off.

The car was driving on the artery and was suddenly shrouded by silence. The atmosphere in the car

seemed to be a bit awkward.

Alexander turned his head to look at the woman by his side and broke the silence, “Are you still angry

at me?”

The words he said to her in the office today were actually ruthless. But he hadn’t expected that her

anger would last so long. Neither had he expected that she would come back to her parents’ house in a

fury.

Having not gotten her reply after a long while, Alexander continued, “Alice, you must know this – not all

Allison felt less upset after his explanation. She moved and said softly, “I just thought that if we do like

you want to give them a chance?”

Allison took a deep breath and nodded, “Yep.”

Letting others off was also letting herself off. She didn’t want to drive them to the corner.

Catching the determination in her eyes, Alexander replied gently, “All right, I will give them a chance

this time.”

Alexander carried Allison to the bedroom, put her onto the bed and reminded her in a gentle voice, “Go

to bed early tonight. We have some business to deal with tomorrow.”

Allison suddenly recalled of something after his reminder.

Tomorrow was Saturday and she and Alexander decided to come to the Parker Mansion to visit his

grandmother!
