Ecstacy of the Heart

Chapter 2 Marriage

Chapter 2 Marriage

The car stopped as Alexander finished his words. Bernard Davis, Alexander’s assistant who sat at the

front seat and was silent all the time then went out of the car, opened the door for Allison and gestured

her to come out courteously.

“Civil affairs bureau?” Seeing their destination, Allison pinched her arm hard in disbelief and winced

due to the pain. Isn’t that too soon? She was not prepared for that yet, and wasn’t that some sort of

coercion? She wanted to retreat but Bernard walked towards her with a smile on his face while calling.

“Ms. Gibson.”

“I, I didn’t bring my household register book.” Allison found herself an excuse amidst the panic. After all,

she had not heard anyone mentioning getting the marriage certificate straight after a blind date!

Bernard smiled and led her inside. “It’s okay.” His behavior made her felt like she was trapped in a

difficult situation and she glimpsed at Alexander who was still inside the car behind her. Thinking back

his look back then, she wondered whether he would kill her if she ran away now. She then followed

Bernard reluctantly into the building.

Without even taking ten minutes, Allison had come out of the building and there was a small red book

in her hand. The book was exceptionally dazzling under the sun. Allison patted her face and she felt

like it was a dream. She had actually gotten married with Alexander legally, without the need to use the

household register book and the presence of the male lead, she had made herself a married woman.

She felt everything happened just now was unreal. She only regained her mind when Alexander got out

of the car.

Alexander took over the marriage certificate from Bernard’s hand and put it into the inner pocket of his

suit. He then looked towards Allison and said, “I have an urgent meeting later, so I’ll let Bernard send

you back first. I’ll pay your parents a visit a bit later.” Allison nodded as if she had accepted her fate.

Seeing her response, Alexander did not speak anymore. He turned and headed towards the

intersection of the road. After stopping a cab, he left.

Watching him going away, Allison was in a daze. Although everything that happened just now was a bit

peculiar, how was she eligible enough to officially get married to Alexander Parker, the Prince

Charming of J City?

“This way, missus.” Bernard opened the car door for her as he watched Alexander left.

Missus? Allison’s mind was pulled back to reality by the new way she was addressed. She glanced at

him embarrassingly and awkwardly, nodded and entered the car.

“Missus, this is my name card. There’s my number on it. You could give me a call whenever you need

anything in the future.” Bernard turned and handed his name card to her with both hands. Bernard was

Alexander’s personal high-class special assistant and his position was so high that he could be

counted as the supervisor of her supervisor.

She was slightly nervous when he handed her the name card himself. She took it over with both hands

and subconsciously said, “Thank you, house stewa…” She was going to say house steward but without

even finishing her words, she quickly shut her mouth up when she realized something was wrong.

House Steward Davis was a nickname she and her colleagues gave Bernard in the company because

if Alexander was deemed as the emperor, Bernard would be the house steward. “You don’t have to be

that courteous to me, missus,” Bernard replied humbly and politely. Seeing Bernard giving her a Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

professional and amiable smile, she swallowed and did not say a word.

She felt that this day was too unrealistic like a fairytale. She had gotten married after only three hours

of blind date. Having thought about that, she felt that she was being too reckless back then. She should

not fully obey Alexander just because he was her boss, ad she wondered how she should explain this

to her mother after she got back home.
