Chapter 46
Ace’s PoV
Unice was finished washing when I was too. I looked at her as if she had something to tell me, but I believed she was hiding something from me.
“Did you take the birth control pills?” I asked Unice, and she immediately turned around to face me and responded.
“Yes, I’m taking that. You know it’s important,” Unice said, drying her hair.
“I’m going out first,” I declared as I proceeded, and she nodded. When I arrived at the kitchen, there was nothing suspicious, and I moved to the living room, where there was nothing suspicious as I checked the area.
I enter my room and approach my cabinet, putting on a black jacket and then my boxers, closing my cabinet and thinking to myself. I’ll have to ask Tom what happened today when Unice talked to her friend.
“Are you getting ready to go to bed?” As I looked around, I heard Unice’s voice; she was now in my bed.
“I’m going to use my computer; I need to look for information,” I told her as she nodded and approached the bed.
I think she’s dressed in a pink t-shirt and shorts, and I think she’s expecting us to have sex later tonight. I opened the computer and entered the password.
When I opened the browser, I clicked on the history and was surprised to see that she had played a game here, which did not surprise me because she was bored.
“I had no idea you played a game here on my computer,” I inquired of Unice, who was already using her phone.
“Do I need to tell you that I’ll be using your computer? I was bored,” Unice inquired, and I shook my head.
“It’s okay if you use my computer because my folders and documents are locked, and you can’t open them.” I reminded this to Unice, who seemed uninterested in what I said.
“Okay, I thought I needed permission to use your computer,” Unice replied, returning to her phone and scrolling.
“If you’re tired, you can sleep first,” I told her, and she nodded.
Four hours had passed. I look at the clock on my computer, and it’s already 1:00 a. m. I don’t feel like sleeping tonight, so I will go to the basement to ask Tom. I look at Unice, who is already sleeping while snoring and holding her phone.
I took her phone and put it in the drawer, then put a blanket on her and kissed her cheek. I approached the cabinet to select my fitted denim pants. I put them on and wore my black sneakers.
I shut down the computer, grabbed my motorcycle key, grabbed my phone, and exited my room. I’m hoping she won’t wake up until I return.
I’m now outside the house, approaching my motorcycle, a sizeable black bike with a metallic finish.
I put on my helmet and started my motor, opening my motor’s headlights as I drove away from the house. I noticed earlier that Unice’s eyes were moving so quickly as if she was avoiding something. I wanted to ask her, but I believe she will be relieved that I did not ask her.
After a few moments, when I arrive at the basement, I park my motorcycle and remove my helmet, which I then place on my motorcycle. When I enter the basement, Max, Charlie, and Tom appear surprised that I’m here.
“Didn’t you all go home? Why are you in the basement in the middle of the night? My men are only supposed to be here at night,” I inquired, and they were playing cards.
“It’s boring in our house, and we don’t have anyone looking after us, so we decided to stay,” Max replied as I approached them.
“Tom, may I ask you a question? Tell me about everything that happened today. And about Unice’s friend?” I inquired, and he was surprised.
“Where do I begin? Unice and her friend Zoey, who are conversing at the café?” Tom questioned me, so I grabbed my 9mm pistol and placed it on the table, and they were led away.
“Are you serious right now, Ace? You’re going to murder a close friend because of Unice?” Max paused in front of me, and I glared at him.
“I just want to know if anything happened. Unice is very suspicious, and she thought I wouldn’t know,” I said, and Tom stood and kneeled.
“Please don’t get upset with Unice, boss! She wants me to keep it hidden! I was simply carrying out her order!” Tom said, and I took the gun from the table.
“Tell me,” I inquired, and he looked at me.
“Edward found us and was about to take Unice somewhere, and I believe he is planning to manipulate and use Unice to cause you harm!” Tom explained what had happened, and I returned the gun to its holster.
“Why doesn’t Unice want to tell the truth?” I confronted him.
“All she said is you’ll be furious if you find out, and I tried to persuade her to tell you about it, but she refused!” Tom responded, and I laughed a little.
“She’s afraid I’ll kill someone else; I told her I wouldn’t kill the detectives if they found me. But I didn’t tell her I was still planning to kill Edward and his son.” I assured myself, and then my phone rang.
“Looks like Unice has already woken up,” Max murmured, and I picked up my phone, seeing Unice’s name on the incoming call.
I didn’t answer it and went outside, where I picked up the helmet and put it on.
“What are your plans now?” As he followed me outside, Max inquired.
“I’ll tell Unice everything I’m planning, but I’m not going to involve her in killing someone and becoming someone like me; I’m not going to make her repeat the mistakes I made and became,” I stated, then hopped on my motorcycle and started the engine.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
I’m on my way home now. When I got home, I noticed the lights were turned on, so I immediately parked my motorcycle in the garage and removed my helmet. I then placed it above the motor, wondering what Unice would ask me.
I entered the house and saw Unice standing in front of the door, waiting for me.
“Where have you gone? I thought you were kidnapped already; where did you go?” Unice inquired.
“I needed to go to the base because it was an emergency,” I assured her, and she took the gun from my holster and removed the ammo cartridge.
“What made you do that? Are you mad at me?” When I asked her, I was about to pull the gun on her when she became terrified.
“You’re going to hurt me! I know you asked Tom about what happened today, and I know you’re suspicious of me because you’re a genius, right?” I just laughed when Unice blustered.
“I won’t be angry because I’ll tell you my plan,” I assured her, and when I grabbed the gun from her, she already gave it up.
“Let’s go to your room first,” Unice said and she went down to mine; I turned off the light and followed her.
“How long have we been together now?” I think it was about two months,” I asked Unice as she sat on the bed.
“That’s what I know; what are your plans?” Unice began questioning me about my plan.
“About the plan, let me tell you something about what happened to my family,” I said.
“Edward was the one who killed my mother and father; I saw it on the CCTV camera, and it was identified as my uncle, which is him,” I told Unice, shocked.
“If you don’t mind, could you show me the CCTV footage?” Unice asked, so I took out my phone, played the video, and showed it to her. She was surprised to see it and was now sad.
“He is evil; why would he do that to his relative? What does he want from your family that he would commit such a heinous murder?” Unice questioned me, but I couldn’t give her an honest answer.
“I’m still investigating what he wanted, and I believe he didn’t get what he wanted, which is why he killed my family,” I replied as she touched my hand.
“Tell me about your plan, and I’ll assist you in getting Edward, but I’m not going to kill anyone, do you understand?” Unice assisted me.
“Thank you; I know you don’t want to kill someone because you’re a good person, and I don’t want you to be like me,” I reassured her.
“You need to plan for two people first, because Edward has a son, and I believe he is also planning to get you soon, like a father-like son. I hope my future son or daughter isn’t like that, convincing the father to continue doing something bad because it’s just wrong,” Unice explained. She was correct in her assessment.
