Chapter 13

Than POV
2 weeks have passed and nothing, nothing! It's as if Kala has just vanished into thin air.
Alora's strength was still slowly regaining and I was running out of time. My pack doctors are pressing me. to make a decision, telling me that my love needs to know.
But how can I tell her, I can't. The doctors also need to remember who the alpha is here. follow

trackers were running out of places to look and the damn pack mind-link was too far away. I was getting frustrated with the delayed communication and updates via calls and text messages. The only option is for me to leave Alora and join my trackers out in the field.
Mother and Freya can keep a watchful eye on her. Mother has already said she would happily move back into the alpha house to assist.
Zane can head up training in my absence and notify me of any issues with pack management that he can't handle as the beta.
Once my wolf is in his form we should find Kaia quickly, alpha wolf's senses are stronger than any other wolf and I may be able to pick up on clues of her location.
It was settled, that's what I will do...I just need to have a good cover story for when Alora asks where I am going. She'll wonder why I am leaving her now when she still isn't at her full strength. The other packs were holding out on me. They were refusing access.
Bastards!
I'll remember this for when they need help...I'll happily deny them my men and assistance as they are denying me now.
Untrusting, all of them.
A
knock on my office door disturbs me from my thoughts of revenge on those that are wronging me.
"Enter!"
"Alpha, today's mail has arrived." Freya walks towards my desk, handing me the pile of letters in her hand.
"Freya, I need to go off pack land for a few days. You will be assigned to be here for Luna Alora as she continues to recover. Mother should be arriving today or tomorrow to also assist. That's all!" I dismiss Freya keen to get prepping. Freya heads to the door but lingers, looking awkward, as if she wants to say something. "Yes?"
"Are?
"Are you looking for Kala?" She quietly asks, her head whipping outside the door to check the corridor is

"That's none of your concern, and I've made it very clear that mentioning that name in front of Alora is forbidden..."
"Oh no Alpha, I wouldn't."
"Good. Why do you ask?"
"...I just want to make sure she is okay...she left without saying goodbye..."
Since when did Kaia make a lasting impression on my pack members. I kept her isolated for a reason. But then again, Freya did see her more than most. "She left and took something with her, something I need. Something I need to retrieve."

This one is different...it's ivory in colour and made out of a heavier card material.
It has a hologram sticker on the bottom right corner, that when flickered under the light shows a leaping wolf behind a tree.
There's no mistaking it's origin, it's from the werewolf community.

An e I have to read the invitation a number of times to believe what I am reading. It clearly states that this year's banquet is to be hosted by the Dark Phantom pack Impossible...
If the Black Phantom pack is hosting, why would I be invited. Why would he invite me?
I can't believe it and spend a good length of time staring at the invitation, inspecting it again and again. Perhaps this was the lifeline I needed, the lifeline Alora needed.
If I can gain entry to the banquet and speak with the other alphas, plead my case...they'll let me into their packs.
She has to be hiding somewhere. Hiding in a barn or some other kind of abandoned building. One of them must have felt a rogue enter their pack grounds...someone must now. Chapter 0013
I'll just have to do my best to not converse with him, to not see him.
