Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen

Chapter 245

Downstairs, the housemaid was on a long-distance call with the lady of the house.

They were discussing the best time to get pregnant so that the baby bump wouldn't show up in the wedding dress and whether the weather would be too hot or too cold during the postpartum period.

Just then, a loud noise came from the second floor.

The housemaid almost thought it was an earthquake! She looked upstairs in shock.

"Bang, bang, bang!" The loud noise continued, and it sounded like a fight? Then, a door-banging noise suddenly arose!

She cautiously climbed upstairs to take a look.

There she saw the young master of the house in his bathrobe, standing helplessly at Ms. Lopez's door, gently knocking and cooing, "Let me see your hand, I'm sorry, I was wrong, I shouldn't have fought back, did I hurt you, open the door, let me take a look..."

Upon hearing this, the housemaid hurriedly reported to the lady over the phone in a low voice, "Oh no, ma'am, it seems like things aren't going well, they're having a disagreement, the young master hurt Ms. Lopez..."

Before the housemaid could finish, Egbert's gaze swept over abruptly from the corridor.

the housemaid was taken aback and quickly hung up the phone, then awkwardly returned downstairs!

In the room, Eileen sat on the bed, rubbing her reddened wrist, infuriated.

Egbert had the nerve to fight back after taking advantage of her! She was so angry!

Outside, the man's knocking continued.

Eileen was fuming, but she dared not make a sound. She was afraid that if she made a fuss, it would seem like she couldn't take a loss, and she would feel more embarrassed!

She simply lay down on the bed, pulled the blanket over her head, covering her ears tightly, ignoring the person outside!

The knocking lasted for a long time. After it stopped, Eileen peeked out from under the blanket, raising her right hand, the red mark on it was particularly noticeable.

Eileen swore to herself, "I'll definitely improve my physical strength tomorrow! I'll defeat Egbert!"

The next morning, Eileen got up early. As soon as she came downstairs, she saw Egbert sitting on the living room couch, flipping through the documents she hadn't had time to tidy up yesterday.

Eileen rushed over, gathered the documents, then reached out to grab the material Egbert was holding, shouting, "These are secrets, no peeking!" Egbert laughed and let go, saying, "Got your eyes on Gentry from BlueSky Group?"

Eileen didn't answer him, she stacked up the documents, put them in her backpack, then picked up her nunchaku and went to the small garden to practice.

As Eileen swung her nunchaku, Egbert leaned against the balcony door frame with his arms folded, watching her back and saying, "Gentry is indeed a talent, but it won't be easy to poach him, he's leading a team, BlueSky Group promised him 10% of the shares when they poached him."

Eileen swung her nunchaku with alternating hands, maintaining her horse stance, without turning her head she said, "Who said I can't promise shares?"

Egbert raised an eyebrow, "How much are you planning to give him, five percent, seven percent? You hold twenty-six percent of the shares, but that's not a lot, Ableson also has twenty-three percent, if you shift shares to Gentry, the controlling rights will definitely change again."

Eileen turned to look at Egbert, challenging, "Who told you I only have twenty-six percent of the shares?"novelbin

Egbert was taken aback, and his eyes narrowed.

At this moment, Eileen put her nunchaku on her waist, gestured to Egbert by the door and said, "Come here." Egbert paused, but straightened up and walked towards her.

As soon as he approached, Eileen threw a punch at Egbert's face, "Beat me and I'll tell you!"

Egbert tilted his head to avoid the attack, his dark eyes slightly raised, his left hand gripping her right hand.

Egbert's fingers pressed against her reddened wrist, and he said in a deep voice, "Does it hurt?"

Eileen skillfully twisted her wrist, quickly countering and gripping Egbert's wrist and said, "Stop talking, I underestimated you last night, and the venue was limited. I won't lose to you again!"

With that, she swiftly aimed a punch at Egbert's throat...

When The housemaid got up to cook, she saw the couple in the garden, fighting fiercely.

She was startled and hurried over to break it up, "Stop fighting, what's going on? Can't you talk it out? How can you fight? Master, Ms. Lopez, stop fighting, stop!"

Ten minutes later.

The housemaid came out of the kitchen with a bowl, while beating an egg, she stood casually at the garden door, looking at the two incessant kids in the yard, saying, "How much longer are you going to fight? Aren't you tired?"

Half an hour later.

With her apron on and a spatula in her hand, The housemaid came out of the kitchen, loudly announcing, "Final five minutes, okay? Come wash your hands and get ready for breakfast in five minutes."

Five minutes later, The housemaid placed two bowls of oatmeal, one for each, in front of Eileen and Egbert, complaining, "You're both so naughty. It's early in the morning, aren't you tired?"

Eileen started eating her food, saying, "Morning exercise."

The housemaid served her some fruit and juice, saying, "Eat more."

Eileen happily accepted them all, saying, "Okay!"

Across the table, Egbert stirred his oatmeal with a spoon and looked up, "So?"

Eileen looked up at him, "Hm?"

Egbert said, "The shares."

"Oh, that." Eileen said, shaking her head smugly, "But we just tied, you didn't beat me."

Egbert paused, then he chuckled, nodded and said softly, "As long as you're happy."

For the next few days, Eileen stayed at home, occasionally sparring with Egbert, working remotely, or watching the news, not going out at all. On the other hand, the Ableson house was in turmoil.

Ableson, with a bandage still on his forehead, slapped Sarah's face, cursing, "Bitch, it's all your fault!"

Sarah fell back onto the sofa, tears streaming down her face. She sobbed, terrified, "I truly had no idea what was going on. I tried calling Eileen but couldn't get through. I have no idea why this is happening..."

"You're her mother, and how could you not know?" Ableson lashed out, gripping Sarah's hair tightly. He snarled, "Now what? She used her executive powers to kick me out of my own company, Sarah! That was the company I built from scratch!"

Sarah hurriedly responded, "There has to be a way... actually..."

"Actually what?" he roared.

Tears and snot smeared on Sarah's face. Gritting her teeth, she said, "It's Hanson... Mr. Hanson. He called me a few days ago..." Ableson paused, "Him? What did he say?"

Struggling, Sarah said, "He asked me to reason with you. He said not everyone at the shareholders' meeting agreed with Eileen, and that he had a plan to regain controlling power. But, this plan..."

Ableson yanked Sarah's hair, his face twisted with rage, "Speak up! What is the plan?"

It's so painful that Sarah felt as if her head was about to explode. Clutching her head, she managed to say, "We need to consolidate shares! If Eileen can consolidate shares, so can we. Mr. Hanson said, if you're willing to sell him your twenty-three percent stake temporarily, coupled with his ten percent, it would total to thirty-three percent. That would force Eileen off the board!"
