Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen

Chapter 230

Eileen's eyes bulged as she stared at the back of the woman in front of her.

Forrest?

Egbert's ex-fiancée, wasn't that Forrest?

But then she thought again, it didn't seem likely.

What's the connection between Egbert's ex-fiancée and Jarvis? How could she possibly be in Jarvis' hospital room?

The woman seemed oblivious to Eileen's gaze.

They made their way through the small hall outside and entered the largest room in the VIP ward.

As soon as Eileen stepped in, she saw Jarvis lying on the hospital bed munching on a pear. And there, sitting in a chair next to him, was Bartley Forrest, who was actually cutting pears for Jarvis!

Eileen was frozen in place. Why was Bartley here?

If Bartley was here, then this Harriet might actually be...

Simon looked a bit taken aback as he spotted Eileen and Egbert.

He immediately put down the fruit and knife in his hands and stood up to greet them. "Ms. Lopez, Mr. Reed, what brings you here?"

Jarvis was also taken aback. He knew Eileen would come, after all, she had called him in the morning.

But he didn't expect Egbert would come too.

Jarvis attempted to sit up.

Seeing this, Simon quickly stopped him, "Don't move around, your wound might crack."

Jarvis had to stop.

At this moment, Harriet brought over two chairs and said to Egbert and Eileen, "Please sit."

Eileen gave Harriet a glance, her mind now filled with doubts, then she said in a low voice, "Thank you."

Harriet smiled warmly at her and said, "You're welcome."

Eileen's confusion deepened! The questions in her mind scratched at her like cat claws!

Was this Ms. Forrest, Egbert's ex-fiancée?

She couldn't be, right?

"Ms. Lopez, Ms. Lopez?"

"Huh?" Eileen snapped back to reality, realizing Jarvis was talking to her. She quickly asked, "What?"

Jarvis said, "I was saying, thank you for the fruit."

Eileen waved her hand, "No problem."

After saying this, she sneaked another peek at Ms. Forrest.

When she saw Ms. Forrest looking back at her, she quickly looked away, feeling guilty!

Then she cleared her throat, her eyes darting around the room, and casually asked Simon, "By the way, why are you here?" Simon sighed, "Actually, I was in the car with Mr. Dave when the accident happened. Mr. Dave got injured trying to protect me."

"Huh?" Eileen was stunned.

Jarvis, however, said to Simon, "I told you it wasn't your fault. You shouldn't blame yourself."

Eileen, who was unaware of the situation, asked, "I thought it was because of Jarvis' crazy fan?"

Simon nodded, then recounted the events of that day.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

It was Eileen's birthday, and he had wanted to ask her out, but she was unavailable, so he spent the day with Jarvis.

On the way back that night, Jarvis was followed by a fanatic fan.

Jarvis' driver noticed the follower and tried to shake them off, but not only did they persistently chase after them, they even overtook them, swerving from the adjacent lane and forcing their way into their lane.

The driver was startled and swerved to avoid them, but at that moment, the person leaning out of the other vehicle started taking pictures of them with a camera.

The flash was too bright, blinding the driver, so the car crashed into the guardrail.

At the critical moment, Simon clearly remembered Jarvis shielding him, which is why he was unhurt while Jarvis suffered multiple fractures.

This incident had been weighing heavily on Simon, and he had been taking care of Jarvis in the hospital ever since.

Jarvis then said, "It really isn't your fault."

Simon didn't say anything, just lowered his head.

Eileen now understood what had happened and said, "But the news didn't mention you."

Simon said, "Yes, the news came out at noon on the tenth, but the accident happened on the evening of the ninth. After the accident, we contacted our respective companies and agents immediately. Afterwards, both sides' PR departments decided to erase me from the incident since I was unharmed, to avoid causing more problems."

Eileen understood and nodded. She was about to take this opportunity to ask about Ms. Forrest when...

Harriet came up behind Simon, ran her fingers through his hair and said, "I've been handling the following matters of the accident for Bartley. Bartley had a falling out with his family, he ran away from home to make a name for himself, and he didn't dare to tell his parents about the accident, so he could only contact a senior relative like me."

Bartley?

A senior relative!

Damn, it's pretty much confirmed now, this Ms. Forrest is Egbert's ex-fiancée!

Eileen suddenly felt a bit dizzy.

Jarvis then sat up a little and reached out his hand to Egbert, "I didn't expect to meet Mr. Reed again under such circumstances. Mr. Reed, hello, I don't know if you remember me. I'm Jarvis. We met at the film appreciation ceremony last year."

Egbert leaned over to shake Jarvis' hand and said, "I don't remember."

Jarvis And everyone else were all speechless.

Eileen stared blankly at Egbert, puzzled as to why he was treating Jarvis like this.

When Egbert pulled his hand back, he noticed Eileen's gaze.

The man was silent for a moment, then stood up and said to Eileen, "You guys chat. I'll wait for you outside."

"Huh?" Eileen was confused.

Why would he wait for her outside?

Eileen had a weird feeling, then suddenly, a thought popped into her head.

Egbert didn't want to stay in the hospital room because of Ms. Forrest.

Yes, he must have felt awkward seeing his ex-fiancée, so he decided to avoid the situation!

The moment the idea popped into her head, Eileen immediately grabbed Egbert, saying, "Where do you think you're going? Sit down!"

Egbert blinked, gave the girl a look, and eventually sat back down.

Eileen then took the initiative, reaching out to hold Egbert's hand.

Egbert stared at her, taken aback.

Eileen didn't care about Egbert's surprise; she held his hand tight!

Eileen had made up her mind, she was going to help Egbert reclaim his dignity!

In front of his ex-girlfriend, she couldn't let him fail!

So, not only did Eileen hold hands with Egbert, but she also gripped his hand tightly.

Egbert looked at their interlocked hands, paused for a moment, then suddenly seemed to understand something and started laughing.

Seeing Egbert laugh gave Eileen even more motivation.

So she scooted her chair a little closer to Egbert, determined to sit really close to him!

Then she pointed at the pear in Simon's hand across the table, saying, "Egbert, that pear looks pretty good."

The man looked at her calmly, smiling, and said, "Yeah, it does."

With a strong vengeful attitude, Eileen said, "We should get some on our way home later. Enjoy some sweets, and you'll sleep better!"
