Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1924

Her mind was a whirl of heated thoughts and emotions, leaving her unable to push him away. She felt utterly drained of strength.

It wasn't until she found herself pinned on the couch that she snapped back to reality, hastily placing her hands on his chest in a feeble attempt to stop him.

Fitch looked down at her, noticing a glimmer of lucidity in her eyes. Gently, he followed the path of her hand, kissing his way upward.

Men, it seems, don't need to learn how to please a woman; it comes naturally when they desire to.

She'd never been this close with a man before, so it was only natural that her emotions were running high.

"Stop..."

Her voice trembled, but her arms were too weak to push him away.

She felt like she was adrift in an endless ocean, waves crashing over her, making her entire being sway. It all felt so unreal.

Fitch intended to keep her in this haze, away from clarity.

His touches were gentle, leaving only the faintest traces on her skin.

Zoey grasped at his hair, her toes curling uncontrollably.

A flash of white crossed her mind, and she gasped for air.

Fitch paused, wiping his mouth, seeing her in total disarray. He knew it was almost time.

Just as he was about to take the final step, the lights in the room suddenly flicked on. Nolan stood at the bottom of the stairs, rubbing his sleepy eyes. "Daddy, what are you doing?"

The harsh light and the child's voice snapped Zoey back to reality.

Fitch quickly grabbed a nearby blanket, covering her entirely, then turned to his bewildered son.

Nolan looked from his dad, who was now shirtless but still in his jeans, muscles tense, to Zoey.

Fitch put a hand to his forehead, momentarily wishing he could just toss the kid back to bed. So close! They were so close!

Nolan, still rubbing his eyes, glanced between them.

"Playing, what, I wanna play too."

Fitch's face darkened, his tone cold. "It's 2 a.m., why are you down here?"

"Thirsty."

Is everyone just thirsty tonight at the worst possible times?!

"Drink some water and go back to bed."

"Okay."

"No, Nolan, don't ask anymore. Go back to your room and turn off the light."

Nolan quickly turned off the light, trusting his dad. If he said he wasn't bullying, then he wasn't.

The room plunged back into darkness.

Fitch, trying to maintain control, moved to lift the blanket off Zoey. "Let's continue."

But in the next instant, Zoey pushed herself up and slapped him.

Fitch's cheek immediately bore the mark of her fingers.

He remained silent as she quickly got dressed, her cheeks burning with embarrassment.

"Shameless!"

Once she was gone, he touched his cheek.

Even though they hadn't gone all the way, he'd gotten pretty far. A slap was a small price to pay.

And when she slapped him, it was so soft, it felt less like a rebuke and more like a tease.
