Darling, Don't Get Rid of Me

Chapter 67 I Decide What to Do

Chapter 67 I Decide What to Do

A president room of a high class hotel at an island coast of New Zealand was surrounded by sunshine.

The sunlight from the sunrise shined through the French windows and made Harriet who was on a

double bed opened her eyes slowly.

She was about to lift herself up yet she fell back to the cozy bed due to lack of energy. Her whole body

was aching and weak, reminding her how much she was messed around by Wesley last night.

“Tsk, man!”

She spoke angrily and realized her throat had become hoarse.

Although their relationship was used to be like that, but it was rare for Wesley to mess her around until

she suffered. No matter how she begged and cried last night, that man did not show her any mercy.

Where the heck had she offended him?

Just then, the door opened and Harriet looked at its direction alertly. She felt relieved after noticing it

was Wesley.

“What is this place?” She frowned.

Wesley was dressed casually, his white shirt added a sense of indifference to him and his cufflinks

were fastened on his forearms. He looked refreshing though with such a casual wear, and he looked

less apathetic as if having a good mood.

“New Zealand.”

Harriet had followed him for so long and she could discern his mood from his voice, she was bold

enough to quickly reply, “Looks like Mr. Smith has some business matter to deal with, I’ll leave by

myself and would not bother you.”

“Who has allowed you to leave?” Wesley replied lightly and threw her a bag of clothes, “Get dressed

and come out.”

Harriet’s face froze and said stubbornly, “Mr. Smith, you should be happy for last night already, and I’ve

accomplished my duty, therefore staying here would be solely wasting our time, not to mention I have

an acting job when I return.”

Wesley had obviously lost his patience, “Harriet, I don’t like to repeat my words.”

“…”

Seeing him going out of the room after leaving those words, Harriet got up and wore her clothes

unhappily.

The bruises all over her body were frightening at sight, and people might be mistaken about her being

abused by Wesley, especially the scar caused by a gun wound on her chest which seemed impossible

to be gotten rid of.

She closed her eyes and forced herself not to think further. After covering every part of the body that

could be covered, she went to the living room. She noticed that breakfast had been laid on the dining

table and Wesley had not left to her surprise.

“Aren’t you going for a business meeting?”

Wesley raised his eyebrow, “Are you that happy to see me leave?”

Harriet forced a smile and sat down opposite to him calmly, “I would be blamed if I do not remind Mr.

Smith about important matter.”

Her face did not look good when she spoke.

As if noticing her being uncomfortable, Wesley suddenly got up.

Harriet quickly tensed her muscles and stared at him alertly due to her fear to him last night.

Could he want to do something on her again? She would not be able to withstand it!

Luckily, Wesley was just taking a soft cushion from the sofa, “Get up,” he ordered.

Harriet startled and stood up subconsciously. He then put the soft cashmere cushion on her seat. She Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

staggered for a moment then sat down, feeling slightly amusing.

“What does this mean, Mr. Smith? A reluctant care, or a sudden discovered conscience?”

Wesley went back to his seat and gave her a cold gaze, “You better stay still, or else I won’t mind to let

you suffer more.”

Listening to his casual threatening words, Harriet finally could not help but explode the depression she

had till now since yesterday.

“Wesley Smith, I knew myself deep down, therefore I was willing to fulfill your request every single time,

but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a heart! I’ve accepted being called the other woman, but can’t you at

least give me some respect? You brought me out the moment you had just engaged with other people,

aren’t you feeling ashamed?”

As she just finished her words, Wesley’s cold stare scratched her face like sharp blades.

She suddenly understood why other people was so afraid of this man, because she had experienced

the sense of suffocation at this moment too.

“I’m still not engaged with Louisa,” Wesley looked away after giving her a threatening stare.

Harriet frowned, and immediately understood.

He was right, the birthday party was messed up by Louisa and the ceremony declaring the

engagement could not began, therefore the engagement was counted as incomplete. But why did he

give such an explanation? Was it solely to give an explanation for himself?

Harriet stared at him and felt that his action was unaccountable.

“Mr. Smith, no matter you’re engaged or not, it’s inappropriate for me to stay by your side, please let

me go.”

Wesley gave her a stare and replied calmly, “Clause number one hundred and twenty-eight. I’m sure

you have a good memory.”

Harriet startled, and remembered the domineering agreement saying “From now on, you need to

accompany me for any trip”. Her eyebrow twisted and asked, “Isn’t that agreement already invalid?”

Wesley gave her a light stare, “I decide whether it is invalid or not.”

…Alright, he was the boss anyway.

After being dramatic, Harriet knew how to quit after being ahead. She knew she was not capable to

argue with him therefore she decided to give in.

“It’s certainly up to Mr. Smith to decide, yet, it’s not only me whose time was delayed if I do not join the

movie crew now. Can’t you at least allow me to apply for a holiday?”

Wesley had his breakfast slowly and gracefully, he spoke casually, “You don’t need to worry about this.”

Harriet simply kept quiet and had her breakfast obediently.

The atmosphere fell into silence which Wesley felt abnormal. Harriet though not counted as talkative

but would nag on something unlike being listless today.

“Not feeling well?” His eyebrows twisted unnoticeably.

Harriet raised her eyes, “If I say I’m not feeling well, would Mr. Smith give me a good rest?”

Wesley squinted without giving her any reply.

See, how could her have the right to rest? If he really did care for her health, he would not force her to

take out one of her kidneys, and would cease when she begged last night.

Harriet suddenly felt immensely tired, both physically and mentally, therefore she was lazy to talk to him

anymore.

The meal was tasteless, as if influenced by Harriet’s mood, Wesley did not look peaceful as before.

After finishing breakfast, Harriet went inside his car and closed her eyes for a rest without even asking

where they were heading to.

“Get down.”

After reaching their destination, Harriet was woken up by Wesley and she stepped out of the car

reluctantly.

How rude towards a woman, didn’t he see her sleeping soundly?

Yet when she saw the building before her clearly, she startled and looked at him suspiciously, “What

are we doing here at a hospital?”

Wesley raised his eyebrow slightly, “Didn’t you say you were not feeling well?”

Harriet felt surprised, she never expected him to be so generous which made her felt awed from the

unexpected favour.

“So you’ve purposely taken me to the hospital?”

Seeing her asking this in trance as if he was cruel to her all the time, Wesley pulled her slightly

impatiently towards the entrance of the hospital.

Although her English result back in art school was still good, Harriet had never used English in daily life

before, therefore she only stood aside when Wesley went through all the formalities. It was unusual for

him to do things all by himself without bringing an assistant along.

His good looks and standard London accent made things easier wherever he went.

After a round of embarrassing gynecology check-up, Harriet could almost understand what the doctor

was saying with her eligible English standard, and there were all those usual questions doctors would

ask.

Yet what the doctor said next made her heart dropped.

“Therefore please be cautious next time. Mrs. Smith would be alright after a few days rest and some

medication. But...” The doctor frowned, “Mr. Smith, unfortunately, I have to tell you that your wife’s

uterus wall is too thin therefore it would be hard for her to become pregnant. Even if she does become

pregnant in the future, I’m afraid there will be habitual abortion.”
