Chapter 89
I’m seething with anger and frustration as I pack my bags. There’s not a lot to pack so it doesn’t take long. I take my toothbrush and its case and toss it at the side of the bag so it would be easy to a**s when I needed it. My clothes were the most basic of most basic set of clothes. A blue jean, a black jean and multiple tops of tremendously low quality. Whoever Aston put in charge of getting me clothes did a great job at portraying his hatred for me through the clothes.
My underwear was nothing to get excited about it either but I couldn’t complain, at least I got underwear now. My mind drifted back to the time when all I had on was a shredded pant that did nothing to cover my a*** and put me through a shit load of shame. The feel of the cold ground of the cell was torturous and sickening. It threatened to drive me mad. This room and the few clothes that I had was one hell of an upgrade that I could not be mad about but I needed to get out of the pack before it head got more messed up than it already was. I was starting to get used to the things that I had, it was painful but I was adapting and I was not happy about it.
There was no way in the universe that I would allow myself get completely comfortable with the bare minimum. I had everything I ever wanted and I even had more so living life with ust what I needed and not what I deserved was not something that I intended to do. I was going to get out of the pack and I was going to live my life to the fullest.
I resumed stuffing my bag with stuff I thought I might need or stuff that I just wanted to bring along because they fit in the small travel bag that I found in the closet. I didn’t know how long I was going to be gone for but I wanted to be as prepared as possible. Aston was not going to tend to my needs if I ever needed anything on the course of the trip and I had no money.
I was done packing, my legs swinging at the edge of the bed in the same rhythm as the tune I was humming. It was my pathetic attempt to calm my raging heart. Worry consumed me the moment Aston told me about the trip. Nothing good ever came out of being in the Same space as Aston
I couldn’t believe Aston was doing this to me again. One minute I was planning my day, the next I was being dragged on some mysterious trip with him. And to make matters worse, I had no idea where we’re going or how long we were going to be gone for.
The last time I went somewhere with him, it was a disaster. It was so much more than a disaster, it was a traumatizing experience. Aston was out to ruin my life and make me feel like shit and he succeeded, I ended up running into Dax, and 1 had a feeling this trip would not be any better because whenever it felt like there was nothing more Aston could do to make me feel bad, he raised the bar so much more higher than it already was and walked me through hell barefoot like the devil himself.
I hurried to finish arranging my room, It was the new thing I was keeping my mind busy with that was still not helping. I could not help but think about Brax too and what was going to become of the little things that we had going on between us. We were just starting to build something and I intended to make something out of it but it was not going to go very far with the way Aston was behaving. Why the hell was he continuously c**k blocking me?!
I was supposed to spend the day with Brax, not traipse off on some wild goose chase with Aston. I tossed my packed bag aside and rushed to find Brax, hoping he’ll be able to offer some comfort. It was not that I was in love with Brax or anything but
spending time with him was a million times better than spending time with Aston and I would choose him over Aston anytime any day plus the fact that I also needed a way out of this **g place and he was kind of my only option at the moment and I was not willing to let it go.
As soon as I found him, he suggested we grabbed lunch together I hesitated, unsure of how to break the news. He was smiling from ear to ear a soon as he spotted me and he looked genuinely glad to see me so how would I break the news to him. I felt like so much trouble to this peaceful man. I was using him to get freedom and I still had nothing to offer in return other than trouble, I felt like such a b***h
“Brax, Have to tell you something,” I blurted, my voice trembling a little bit. It was a struggle to maintain my composure but I was doing it.
“What is it?” he asks, his eyes filled with concern. I just needed to keep it up throughout the length of the conversation. Maybe if I didn’t look at his face, it would be easier if looked everywhere but him instead.
“Aston is taking me on a trip. I don’t know where or for how long I just found out,” I explained, my frustration peeping

through my words and screaming at his face. I didn’t realize that I was yelling until he puts his arms around me and tell me to calm down. He’s obviously mad but he’s trying to get me to calm down, it’s just the cutest thing ever but I’m too mad to appreciate it.
His arms leave my body stealing the warmth with him and Brax’s face darkens with anger. “That’s ridiculous, even for Aston You can’t just leave like that he says, his voice firm. “This is so inhumane, he can’t keep treating you like you’re some sort of object that he can call for and use as he so pleases, there has to be some ground rules.”
1.
“I know, I know. But I have no choice. I have to go,” I say, feeling a sense of despair wash over me.
Brax takes my hand, his grip tight. “We’re going to talk to Aston. This is ridiculous,” he says, his eyes blazing with determination. He was so confident that I wanted to believe him but I was not sure he could actually do anything about it. Aston was not the type to change his mind so easily and that was okay.
I hesitated, unsure if this was good idea or not. But Brax was already pulling me towards Aston’s office. I followed him. heart racing with anxiety and almost swimming its way up to my mouth.
my
When we arrived at Aston’s door, I thought about just making a gun for it but I was already here, Aston looked up from his desk, a smug expression on his face.
“Ah. Brax. Kira. What a surprise,” he says, his voice dripping with sarcasm. To what do owe this unpleasant visit.”
Brax steps forward, his eyes locked on Aston. “What is the meaning of this, Aston? You can’t just take Kira on without even asking her,” he says, his voice firm.
some trip
Aston shrugs, his expression unchanging. “I don’t need to ask her. She’s my maid, and she’ll do as I say,” he says, his voice cold.
I feel a surge of anger at his words, but Brax beats me to it. “That’s not fair, Aston. Kira has a right to make her own decisions,” he says, his voice rising,
Aston’s expression darkens, his eyes flashing with anger. “You have no right to question me, Brax. I’m the one in charge here,” he says, his voice dripping with malice.
I feel a sense of dread wash over me, my gut telling me that this encounter is not going to end well.
“I can’t believe you’re doing this, Aston,” Brax says, his voice firm but controlled. “Kira has a right to make her own decisions, not be dragged around like a puppet on a string. I won’t sit back and watch you do that to her. Try to have some sort of sympathy, just because you’re an alpha doesn’t mean that you get to treat people like shit.”
Aston leans back in his chair, a smirk on his face. “Oh, come on, Brax. You know as well as I do that Kira is mine to command. She’s my maid, and she’ll do as I say.”
