Chapter 89
“What? Like chase after a boy for years, lose my virginity to him, constantly wait on him to ignore me for the club and now not be able to handle me going away to school for eight months?” Hanna huffed. “Oh wait! I already did that!”
“Hanna!” Jazz warned.
“Sounds like a real idiot to me. Any guy should be chasing you and not the other way around.” TJ replied.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“I’m Hanna.” Hanna replied. “Sam, Smokey, and Snake’s daughter.”
“TJ as I said. Tank and Raven’s son.” He replied.
“Raven is your mom?” Hanna asked.
“Yep.” He replied.
“She’s cool. She comes in Aunt Kim’s shop all the time.” Hanna explained.
“You work there?” TJ asked.
“Yeah. Part time for now, but when I graduate, I’m going to beauty school to get my license.” Hanna replied.
“You definitely don’t need any beauty school.” TJ grinned.
“No silly. Beauty school is where you go to get your training and hours to become a beautician. Then you got sit for your state boards to get your license to do it professionally.” Hanna explained.
“Oh, cool. Well Hanna, want to dance?” He asked.
“Hanna.” Jazz warned.
“Love to.” Hanna replied.
Hanna followed TJ to where the others are dancing. Jasmine went and searched for Maverick.
“Big bro, you better get your head out of your ass and quick.” Jazz warned.
“Sis what are you going on about now?” Maverick asked.
“Oh, just that one of the guys from the Joker’s MC is making a move on Hanna.” Jazz retorted.
“What the fuck?” Maverick demanded.
“Brother don’t start no shit! Prez warned us. Besides you let her walk. And we can’t break the peace or alliance we have with them. Your dad will have your cut if you fuck it up!” Maddox warned.
Maverick threw the pool stick on the table and went to find Hanna. His anger got the best of him when he saw her dancing with a guy. He walked up behind Hanna and grabbed her arm pulling her away from the guy.
“Look brother, you’re new here so I’ll give you a pass this time. Hanna here is off limits.” Maverick explained.
“No, I’m not!” Hanna huffed.
“Yes, you are!” Maverick said through gritted teeth.
“No, I AM NOT!” Hanna shouted.
“Everyone in the club knows it.” Maverick replied.
“Tired of your community pussy already?” Hanna retorted.
TJ snickered. “Good one.”
“I know right.” Hanna laughed.
“Hanna you’re trying my patience. I’m trying not to lose my temper!” Maverick replied.
“Oh, that is so rich! For two fucking weeks I’ve been trying to talk to you. But you’ve flat out ignored me. You disrespected me last time I tried! Now when someone else steps up you want to pull the off-limits bullshit?” Hanna retorted. “I don’t fucking think so!”
“I needed time.” Maverick replied.
“Time for what?” Hanna demanded.
“Time to get over being pissed at you and time to get used to the idea of you leaving me!” Maverick explained.
“Wow! I’ve put up with your club shit for ten months! And still was by your side supporting you. Yes, we had problems but we talked them out. Never did I ignore you for two weeks. How many times did you leave me to go do club business?” Hanna demanded.
“Well, I guess you can handle it better than me.” He growled.
“No. Just because I don’t act like a damn child who had his favorite toy taken away.” Hanna started.
“I’m not a damn child!” Maverick retorted.
“Just leave me alone Maverick. It’s what you do best.” Hanna retorted.
“No Hanna, never!” He replied.
“Look man, she said leave her alone.” TJ interrupted.
“Stay out of this! It’s none of your damn business!” Maverick warned.
“Hanna let’s go!” Maverick told her as he pulled her away.
“Hey man! Don’t treat her like that!” TJ warned.
“Is there a problem?” BJ Jr asked. He was from the Joker’s MC officers.
“Yes.” TJ replied.
“No.” Maverick replied.
“Son?” Jax asked. He’d just walked up to them.
“This your boy?” BJ Jr asked.
“Yep.” Jax replied.
“Ok I’ll let you handle it. TJ let’s get a drink.” BJ Jr replied.
“You need me doll, just come and find me.” TJ smirked.
“Over my dead body!” Maverick growled.
“Maverick, Hanna, my office. Now!” Jax ordered.
TJ winked at Hanna as she turned to leave. Maverick moved towards him but Jax was quicker and shoved him toward his office. After they went in the office, Jax shut the door then sat behind his desk.
“Sit.” Jax ordered. “Now someone want to explain what the hell that was out there?”
Maverick crossed his arms over his chest refusing to look at his dad.
“Getting into lovers’ shit is not something I normally do. But when it starts shit in my club, I have to step in.” Jax explained. “Hanna?”
“I’m going away to school for eight months.” Hanna replied.
“Ok I don’t understand why that started shit in my club?” Jax asked.
“It’s two fucking hours away! She’s moving there!” Maverick retorted.
“It’s only for eight months! I’m not moving there permanently. I said I would come home every weekend and that you could come see me anytime you wanted.” Hanna explained.
“Sounds reasonable to me. Son, sometimes we have to make sacrifices for those we love. Hasn’t Hanna supported your prospecting to the club? Support goes both ways son. You need to figure your shit out. I won’t have it fucking with my club. Talk it out. Handle this now. And don’t trash my office. Oh and no sex in here either.” Jax ordered as he got up and left.
For a few seconds neither said a word. Then Maverick sighed. “I’m sorry.”
“For?” Hanna asked. Not ready to let him off that easy.
Maverick ran a hand through his hair. “Hell, everything I’ve done wrong.”
“You mean shutting me out at the hospital. Ghosting me for two weeks and refusing to discuss it with me?” Hanna asked.
“Yes. All of that shit.” Maverick agreed. “Fuck Hanna. I don’t like the long-distance shit. What if I lose you because of it? What if it changes us or you? I don’t want to lose you and I don’t want to be away from you.” Maverick explained.
