Chapter 832
The man squinted, "Who are you?"
In his team, everyone had clear responsibilities, yet here was Nina, walking around freely with a black access card in hand.
Nina fell a bit nervous. Anyone with privileges in Pharaoh's territory had to be important. She didn't know this man's rank or his intentions, so she needed to stay vigilant. "I'm with Mr. Micah. I just arrived and I'm getting familiar with the area."
She hadn't seen Scarlett in the slave camp, nor did she know where Scott was. Her current goal was to find them while ensuring her own survival, starting with understanding her surroundings.
"One of Mr. Micah's people, huh," the man repeated.
"Yes. I have other things to attend to, so I'll be going now," Nina replied politely, hoping to avoid further interaction. She stated her affiliation, assuming the man wouldn't trouble her. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
The man didn't respond, simply watching her. His gaze lingered on her face, her eyes, and her retreating figure. If she had been wearing a white dress and standing among the roses, she would have resembled someone from his memories.
"Shadow," the man commanded.
Immediately, a tall man with a buzz cut and a stern, cold expression emerged from the side. He respectfully addressed the masked man, "Pharaoh."
Pharaoh's eyes gleamed with coldness. "Follow up on that woman... Actually, tell Micah to come see me."
"Yes, Pharaoh," Shadow replied without hesitation. As he was about to leave, Pharaoh called him back.
"How is Ivy?" Pharaoh asked.
Shadow stopped and turned to face Pharaoh. "Miss Ivy doesn't like drinking chicken soup, and she's very upset right now." "Doesn't like it, huh?" Pharaoh murmured. "I see. Have Micah come to me tonight."
"Understood," Shadow replied and then left.
About two hours later, Shadow entered Ivy's room. Unlike in the garden, he now wore the black fanged mask. He carried a cake and a dress tailored to Ivy's size.
He approached her, saying, "If you don't like chicken soup, you don't have to drink it. This cake is small. I had the shop recommend a flavor. If it's not to your liking, next time I'll take you there to choose one yourself. And this dress, I thought it would suit you."
Given that the village where Micah had been was destroyed by rival factions, this was now the only peaceful place in the war zone. Ivy was stunned that Pharaoh himself had bought her cake and a dress.
"Father..." she whispered, unable to find words.
Pharaoh patted her head affectionately. "I was just thinking that the chicken soup would be good for you and overlooked your preferences."
Ivy was stunned. Since coming here, she hadn't seen much of Pharaoh. He was always busy and wore a mask, hiding his true face. No one had ever seen what he really looked like. Ivy was momentarily speechless.
"Is there anything you need, Ivy? You can tell me," Pharaoh said, his actions tender, exuding fatherly affection.
Ivy lowered her head. "I want to go out. Don't worry, Father. I won't cause trouble or act recklessly, and I won't get hurt."
