Their travel was set for the next day and having to hear her boyfriend who had just made up with her tell her that they should stay clear of his brother made her wonder why.

“I’ve got to go home we have to travel out of the country for a business meeting,” Sydney said and got up from the bed to the bathroom.

“Wait nobody told me about a work travel,” he said in a confused tone.

“Because we don’t have to tell you, Jax, the world doesn’t revolve around you and I hope you can learn this,” she said

“But…” Jaxton begin but Sydney just walked past him.

“What on earth is wrong with you, I just can’t believe you,” she said.

“I just want you to stay away from him that’s all”

She didn’t respond to him anymore as she just passed him and walked out and then stopped a taxi.

As she got home she decided to start packing her things.

The minute she was done she heard a knock on her door and then after that she opened the door and was face to face with Paxton.

“Are you ready?” Paxton asked and she said yes and then they both left.

As they entered the plane and everything was done.

She and Paxton didn’t have much to discuss she was first of all still angry at his brother for what he said before she left the house.

After laying and taking what she assumed to be a nap she was awoken by Paxton tapping her on the shoulder.

She had slept through the flight they had finally gotten to New York.

Instead of a hotel as she had imagined they were taken and dropped at the penthouse that Paxton had bought for trips like this to New York.

“Do you own the place?” she asked as they entered and the staff all greeted him with a knowing gesture.

“Oh yeah, it’s just part of one of the houses that I have” Paxtom responded.

There are a lot of sides to Paxton that she was just learning.

As she sat there on the seat waiting for the maid of the penthouse to come around and tell her what to do while Paxton took the call.

She couldn’t help but be mesmerised by the antics and how the place was kept pristine even though he came there just once in a while.

Then as Sydney sat there she heard her phone ring trying to take it out it was Jaxton that was when she remembered he had told her not to associate herself with Paxton.

But even if, this was a business meeting and she had to be at the same place as Paxton and his brothers ranging and insecurities had to wait on the outskirts of New York right now they had a business to follow and he was going to be dealt with when she returned.

“Hello Jaxton”

“Where are you and how was your flight?” he asked.

“My flight was okay and everything went as planned ill return in two days” she replied to what he had asked her.

“So are you guys at the hotel in separate rooms or are you both in the same room,” Jaxton asked.

“Jaxtom after a long ass flight this is what you call me to ask?” she whispered yelled.

“I am just asking no big problem Sydney”

“Well there is a problem because I would have expected you to ask me how the flight was and how you missed and loved me but no, we have to go back and forth with this shenanigan of yours”

“Jaxton I need to rest now we would talk tomorrow please,” she said and ended the call just in time for the maid to come in to take her bags to her room.

After she had refreshed she came down to what one could call a feast.

“How many of us are here?” she asked.

“Just you and I why?” Paxton answered.

“I wanted to know because this seems to be a big table just for you and me,” she said

“I didn’t know what you would like don’t tell Emilie to prepare the variety so dig in so you can rest remember we have a long day tomorrow” he reminded her.

These were the moments where she couldn’t help but compare the two brothers.

Both err thoughtfully but one was assertive and the other wanted to impose and she didn’t like the fact that some things have been imposed on her were not accepted.

They both ate in comfortable silence.

The penthouse was super large that Sydney felt she and Paxtom light only meet during the meetings they had to attend or outside while she waited for him but she was mistaken.

The next day early by 6 she was up and already preparing herald for the meeting and she thought she was the first when aue bumped into Paxton who had come out to get a glass of warm milk.

“Sorry, I didn’t think I would meet you out here too” he apologised.

“No, no worries I just felt like having an early morning warm milk, would you like to have some?” he asked her.

“I’ll love to” she responded.

When she has her tea she left for the room and continued with the morning arrangements.

After the meeting that morning she returned while Paxton stayed back to catch up with some friends.

She decided to have a quick nap and only got up when she was feeling hungry.

Before she could come and ask if the table had already been set and a variety of food was placed.

She dug in and took the plate of food up to her room .
