Chapter 65 What A Jerk You Are!
Chapter 65 What A Jerk You Are!
At that moment, most people were evacuated by the guards.
Only the immediate relatives and intimate friends stayed.
All the relatives of Family Huo got stunned hearing the name Xinya.
And then they looked at Mary Yun with strange eyes.
Mary Yun got Xinya’s heart five years ago?
No wonder Michael Huo chose Family Yun...
Actually, Family Yun wasn’t one of the top families in Austral City, and their wealth and power was
far away from that of Family Huo.
However, Family Yun became the lucky dog.
Although Linda Yun didn’t know who Xinya was, but she wasn’t stupid, and she could get a clue
from their words.
"Is that why you wanna marry her?"
Michael Huo looked at her in silence.
Linda Yun smiled mockingly, "what a drama! There’s even nothing like that in TV series."
At that moment, the ambulance had arrived.
Qu Zhirong and others helped Mary Yun into the ambulance.
Members of Family Yun also got in the car with nervous expression.
"Won’t you go with them?" Linda Yun looked at him and then looked through the crowd at the white
ambulance.
Michael Huo grabbed her hand and walked out.
Linda Yun was stunned for a while and looked at the man beside her. He was so handsome but
cold.
Joe Guo had driven the car over. Then he got off the car and stood aside.
Michael Huo directly pushed her into the car and he got in the cab.
The luxury car had disappeared from everybody’s sight, before they could realize it.
Michael Huo’s cellphone kept ringing all the way.
He ignored it and drove faster and faster.
He looked at her through the rearview mirror and found she was always calm no matter how fast
he drove. Her expression didn’t change at all.
What a woman of extreme indifference!
Soon the car arrived at the destination.
"Get off!" The man’s voice interrupted her meditation.
Linda Yun came back to herself, got off the car and found they were in front of the Marriage
Registration Office.
She frowned and looked at Michael Huo surprisedly. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
Perhaps...
The man had taken her hand and walked inside before she could think.
They were received by the highest leader here because of Michael Huo.
And the registration time was the shortest.
Within five minutes, they had received two red marriage certificates.
Linda Yun was stunned for a long time with the certificate in her hand. She got married?
"Didn’t you ask for a marriage? What’s that look now? Unhappy?" Michael Huo pinched her chin to
check her true feelings.
All the people in the leader’s office went out to leave a private space for them.
Now there were only two of them in the room.
"Hah," She narrowed her eyes, suddenly laughed out, and murmured like a fool, "Mary tried
everything to marry you, but now you just married me?"
Michael Huo nodded and looked at her with something hidden deep in his eyes.
"Michael Huo!" She stopped laughing and looked at him, "what’s your purpose? Why did you marry
me?"
"Purpose?" He leaned over her with one hand putting on her chair, "because you’re brave and
tough enough!"
"What?" Linda Yun frowned, "you mean that I’m brave because I almost took abortion pills?"
Michael Huo curled his lips and sharply looked at her with a weird expression, "do you really think
I’m so gullible? How could a calm woman like you get yourself pregnant?"
Hearing that, Linda Yun was stunned for a while, with her hands clenching her purse uneasily.
Actually, she wasn’t pregnant.
The Ultrasound Examination report was fake, too!
Then just now why.
"Why did I marry you?" At that moment, Michael Huo stood up with his tall figure in front of her, "at
the beginning, I wanted to marry her, not just because Xinya’s heart is in her body..." He paused for a
while and then continued, "but later I found it would be more interesting to marry a prickly hedgehog
than a sticky cat. How do you think?"
Hearing this, Linda Yun stood up and sneered, "what a jerk you are!"
Michael Huo laughed evilly, held her waist and pulled her into his arms, "I just wanna know if you’ll
fall for me."
Linda Yun looked at him with her dark eyes and curled her lips, "President Huo, are you trying to
prove your charm to me?"
"I’m your husband!"
Linda Yun had to admit it with a mocking smile, then she grabbed his hands and took them off her
body.
The next second, she tidied up her clothes and said coldly, "remember, I won’t fall in love with you
all my life!"
She didn’t believe his nonsense.
There must be some purpose for him to marry her.
Although, she didn’t wanna marry him.
But it had already happened, and she didn’t wanna change it at this moment.
The title of Mrs. Huo would only benefit her in the future.
"I don’t wanna know why you married me, and I don’t care, either. This fake marriage must benefit
both of us, so when I’m still useful to you, be nice to me!" Linda Yun took it for granted.
After finishing those words, she was ready to leave with the red certificate.
"Linda Yun!" He called her, "since we’ve registered, from now on, you’re my woman!"
He walked up to her and said in a deep voice, "I’ll publish it in the newspaper to tell the whole
Austral City that you’re my wife. I don’t allow anybody to slap you like today!"
Linda Yun was quiet for a few seconds, and a thin layer of laughter flashed in her eyes, with a kind
of ridicule, "Mr. Huo, you’re really good at pleasing women. Did you please Xinya the same way?"
"Are you jealous?" Michael Huo suddenly leaned over her and said in a low voice which seemed to
overflow from his throat with a trace of pleasure.
Linda Yun sneered and looked at him with contempt, "I just think it’s so easy for you to forget her.
Don’t you think you’re too cold-blooded?"
Michael Huo put his arm around her shoulders, with his eyes narrowed, and the light smile at the
corners of his lips turned weird step by step, "so, Mrs. Huo, let’s pay her back together, okay?"
Linda Yun frowned and removed his arm unreservedly.
"Anything to do with me?"
Left those indifferent words, Linda Yun opened the door and walked out directly.
Michael Huo leaned against the window, watching her get in a cab. And then he lit a cigarette, his
handsome face was obscured by bluish white smoke.
But, his eyes looked deeper and serener than usual.
After a while, he put out the cigarette but and said jokingly, "Mrs. Huo doesn’t understand romance
at all!"
Linda Yun left the Marriage Registration Office and headed directly to Steven Meng’s residence.
"Nian, come on in." Steven Meng opened the door and welcomed her in.
That was her first time to visit his house.
He lived in a basement of ten square meters with only one small window.
There was a damp smell in the room because there was no sunshine all the year round.
There was nothing else in the room except a bed, a small table, and a shabby little wardrobe.
"Uncle Meng, you live here?" Linda Yun frowned.
She had always thought that the place where she lived with Patricia Bai was a bit shabby.
But she didn’t expect that he lived in a shabbier place.
Steven Meng laughed lightly, limped over to the bed and smoothed the sheets, "no matter how big
a house you live in, you only sleep in one bed. I’m close to the market. It’s only a hundred meters away.
With the extra walking time I save, I can mend two more pairs of shoes..."
Linda Yun said nothing more and walked to the table.
On the table stood a photo.
That was...
Patricia Bai!
Linda Yun picked up the photo and looked at it.
In the photo, Patricia Bai looked seventeen or eighteen years old, very young, with quite a bright
smile on her face.
In the twenty years they lived together, she seemed to have never seen her smile so brilliantly...
Steven Meng tidied up the sheets and looked at her with some embarrassment, "Nian, there are
no stools at home, would you mind sitting here?"
Linda Yun put down the photo, walked over and sat down on the bed.
At that moment, Steven Meng walked up to the wardrobe, took out a recording pen from one of his
clothes pockets and handed it to her.
"I’ve learnt something about him these days. It has been a long time, and many things are not so
easy to check..."
Linda Yun took over the recording pen and pressed the play button.
[Who can still remember the things long time ago? Cheers. Actually, I saw James Yun always hang
out with a gang of hooligans, I saw them several times but I didn’t mention it to others. Those people
looked so fierce. Pity for our boss’s daughter, who married such a bastard.]
[He lacks of normal human qualities. After he drove boss’s daughter away, we were all fired as
well. None of former servants of Family Yun was kept. How ungrateful he is!]
[Meng, why are you asking these? Don’t you remember how you lost one leg? Actually, you’re
lucky that you just got your leg broken. Elder Butler was more miserable than you. After you were
driven away, Elder Butler tried to intercede for your guys, but he was fired by him, too. Several days
later we heard that Elder Butler died... Everybody knows Elder Butler was in good health, how come he
died suddenly? Meng, I think we should stop talking about him, because he is no more a person we
can talk about casually! He can get rid of us at any time!]
One after another unfamiliar voices came.
She clearly heard the hatred of so many people for James Yun.
Linda Yun pinched the recording pen and her whole body was tense.
"Nian..." Steven Meng apprehensively patted her shoulder, "don’t be sad, I’m always on your side.
I believe there must be someone witnessed his crime, I’ll keep contacting my colleagues till one day we
get some clues!"
Linda Yun came back to herself and looked at Steven Meng. She had a sore nose and red eyes,
"Uncle Meng..."
"No matter what you wanna do, I will help you. But don’t forget to protect yourself no matter what
happened, okay?"
Linda Yun nodded, "don’t worry. He dared not to touch me now, as I just got a new title."
Steven Meng frowned, and he couldn’t understand her words.
"Uncle Meng, I’ll buy you a new house."
"No, thank you, Nian. I’m used to this place. It’s not bad."
"If you regard me as your family, then accept it!" Linda Yun held his hand and looked at him firmly.
She was just so simple.
Whoever treated her well would be rewarded twice.
Whoever treated her badly, she would double it back to him.
Distinguish between kindness and malignity, this was what Patricia Bai always said in her lifetime.
