Chapter 390
Chapter 390
James’ pov
The next morning wasn’t all that awkward.
It really wasn’t.
As soon as I woke up, I let out a small yawn and carefully sat up. My back cracked as I stretched my
arms around side by side for a few moments.
It didn’t take long for the last images from last night to begin to flood my head, and I let out a small sigh
as I glanced sideway at a peacefully sleeping Blair.
Her body would definitely be hurting this morning as soon as she wakes up. I thought to myself as I let
out another yawn.
After she had fallen asleep against me last night, I had carried on with watching the horror movie on my
own, but I genuinely hadn’t been paying much attention to it, seeing as all that was in my mind
throughout those minutes, was no one but Blair.
After some time, in which I had made sure Blair had fallen asleep really deeply against me, I finally
decided to move.
I moved us over, maneuvering her lithe body around before carefully laying her on the rug at the foot of
the couch. I decided to not wake her up, because she had looked so peaceful sleeping against my
shoulder and I hadn’t been able to bring myself to wake her up. I also decided against carrying her over
to her bedroom because I didn’t want to overstep ot make her uncomfortable by doing that. I also had a
deep she might wake up in that process and wouldn’t want to fall asleep any longer.
Which was why, sleeping on the rug in the sitting room had sounded like a good option last night.
My muscles are currently disagreeing with me on that right now but I paid them no heed as I glanced
down at Blair once again. Having her curl into my side after I had laid down beside her on the ground
had made something slow down in my heart last night. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Her mouth was slightly parted as she slept, making her look really fragile and soft. She seemed so
peaceful and relaxed, making me decide against waking her up as I pushed up to my feet and made
my way to my bedroom.
I cleaned myself up and went through my phone for a few moments and then I exited my bedroom
once I was done.
I didn’t have any house help that resides permanently here in the house with me, but I do have
someone who comes in twice or three times a week to clean up the house. I also didn’t have a cook, I
could manage just fine with whipping up a little heap of food for myself if I wasn’t ordering take outs or
eating out in high profile restaurants.
I made my way into the sitting room, and as anticipated, Blair was already awake. She was currently
seated up on the rug with her legs folded beneath her. She looked almost lost with her eyes still filled
with sleep, making her look extremely soft and cuddly.
She glanced up at me as soon as she noticed my presence and I grinned at her a little as I waltzed
deeper into the house, regarding her with a careful gaze.
“Good morning, spitfire.” I murmured as I sank into the couch a few inches away from the spot on the
ground that she was currently still huddled in.
A scowl instantly formed on her face, and her nose scrunched up in distaste, but the lack of any actual
fire in her sleep filled eyes only made her look really cute.
“Don’t call me that.” She muttered with a scowl and I snorted almost immediately. I watched as she
glanced around the entire room for a few moments before focusing her gaze on me once again.
“What happened last night? Did I fall asleep here on the ground?” She asked tentatively and I shook
my head.
“Of course not. You fell asleep on my shoulders. I laid you on the ground myself.”
The scowl on her face deepened. “You could have woken me up.” She pointed out.
“I didn’t want to, you looked so peaceful in your sleep.”
That made her blush a little and avert her gaze. She refused to say a thing after that and after
confirming to me that her back didn’t hurt from sleeping on the ground, I forced her to get up and to go
wash up because I was about to go whip up breakfast.
I was setting up the table when she returned to the kitchen and her stomach loudly betrayed her after
she attempted lying about not being all that hungry.
She ends up sitting down and eating quietly. It was quiet in the dining room and the only noises were
that of the cutleries clanking against the plates.
It was some minutes before we were almost done with our food that Blair decided to break the silence.
“Uh, thank you.” She whispered and I blinked at her.
“Huh?” I whispered and she averted her gaze for a moment.
“Thank you, for making breakfast for me this morning.” She paused and puffed out a deep breath.
“And, for taking care of me.”
I felt something begin to uncurl in my chest.
“Of course. You don’t need to thank me for that, I wanted to do all that I did for you.” I reassured her
with a small smile dancing across my lips.
“No one has ever done that to me in years.” She admitted in a small voice after a few moments.
The shock I felt from those words was so damn unexpected that even though I instantly tried to hide it,
it still ended up being visible on my face a little.
Before I could even begin to process and gather my thoughts, I noticed the moment she leaned back
on her seat and appeared deep in thoughts while a small frown tugged at her lips.
“What’s wrong?” I asked and watched as she slowly shrugged.
“It’s probably nothing.” She huffed and shook her head. “Actually, it is. I just remembered that I still owe
you a whole lot of money, you know? It was like a jolt back to reality.” She responded in a small voice,
and I instantly felt guilty for making her think that I actually wanted to collect money from her.
But, I couldn’t possibly let her out on it now, cause if I do, I won’t have any other excuse to be around
her.
“You know what?” I began to speak. “Don’t think about that for now. Infact, don’t let it ever cross your
mind until whenever I bring it up, okay?”
