Chapter 363
Chapter 363
Sofia’s pov
I’ve always been curious about Luca’s childhood.
I knew he didn’t have a beautiful childhood, because come to think of it; majority of kids who grew up in
mafia homes didn’t grow up in a healthy environment, so it wasn’t much of a surprise that he didn’t
have a nice childhood.
But, I wanted to know about it. I’ve spoken to him about my childhood before, and even though I had
been curious about Luca’s own back then, I hadn’t been able to bring myself to ask him about it,
because we haven’t been all that close back then.
When we had grown closer to one another, the few times I had tried to bring the topic up, he hadn’t
really responded well, so I came to the conclusion myself that he probably doesn’t like to talk about his
childhood or think about it.
Now that Armani was here with us in the house, and today had brought the perfect opportunity forward
for me to bring forth this topic. And, surprisingly, he agreed to it.
“That’s great then.” I murmured and then I shifted a little on my spot on the ground. A light blanket was
beneath me but it still wasn’t as comfortable as sitting cross legged on a couch.
“What would you like to know first?” He asked after a few moments. I picked up the sketch pad once
again before speaking.
“I think it’s best if we do it accordingly, so let’s start from your childhood.” I explained as I carefully
carved out the shape of his nose on the sketch pad. His nose was the exact shape of Luca’s, although
his was a little bit wider.
“Hm. I have a feeling you don’t even care about my childhood that much, all you really wanna know
about is Luca’s.” He pointed out and my eyes widened for a moment before color filled up my cheeks in
embarrassment as being called out so unexpectedly.
He was undoubtedly right, of course Luca’s childhood was what I really wanted to know about.
“That’s not true, don’t word it like that.” I argued but Armani only laughed a little.
“Like what? It’s the truth and you can’t even deny it.” He shot back.
“It’s not true, because I also wanna know how growing up was for you. I’m genuinely curious.” I
explained and Armani let out a thoughtful hum, but the look he was regarding with with, was proof
enough that he didn’t believe me.
“Sure, sure. I believe you.” He crawled out and I pouted at him, ears burning beneath my hair which
hung down my shoulders in two long braids.
“I was wondering though, why don’t you just ask Luca about this?” Armani asked. All traces of his usual
teasing or the playful gleam in his eyes was no where to be found right now.
I huffed out a little breath as I arched a brow at him. “Why? You don’t think I haven’t tried to ask him?”
A sympathetic look crossed Armani’s face at that moment. “Oh, that never even crossed my mind. I’m
sorry.”
“It’s okay.” I murmured as I continued to outline his facial features on the sketch pad with my pencil.
“Luca can’t help but be secretive or evasive about some things, y’know? But he mostly has reasons for
doing so.” Armani explained in a soft and comforting voice after a few moments and I glanced up at
him.
“Oh, I know that. I guess I figured that out on my own, which is why I’m understanding enough to not
push it, but I really can’t help but be curious sometimes, you know? Which is why I decided to ask you
about it.” I explained, teeth digging into my bottom lip as soon as I was done speaking.
“He’d come around soon, I just know it.” Armani murmured reassuringly after a few moments and I shot
him a long look which made him rear back.
“What?” He demanded and I exhaled loudly.
“How do you know that?” I inquired, because from all what I’ve been able to gather in the past few
days, it didn’t seem like Luca was planning to come around at all. Instead, it seemed like some sort of
invisible wall was being built between us. I hated that feeling so much, but there was nothing I could do
about it, which made me hate that feeling so much more.
“I just know it.” He responded confidently and I nodded my head at him absentmindedly even though I
didn’t really believe him.
Perhaps Luca wasn’t acting weirdly or unusual around him, that’s why he’s still feeling this way.
Or could it be that he’s now acting weird around me because of something I had done?
But what could that be?
I blinked down at the sketch pad on my thighs with the pencil hovering over it as so many different
thoughts kept flowing into my minds from a lot of directions at once.
“I can tell you somethings though, but nothing that would actively involve Luca, because I feel like that’s
his story to tell.” Armani suddenly said, pulling me out of my thoughts and back to reality.
“Really?” I asked and he hummed.
I smiled at him almost immediately. “That’s awesome then.”
“You might have been able to figure this one out, but I’ll still say it; Luca and I didn’t have a pretty
childhood, like, it wasn’t pretty in any way.”
I shifted a little . “I figured, and Luca has mentioned somethings about it a few times.”
“Okay, so we didn’t grow up poor, but we grew up with a lot of responsibility on our shoulders,
especially Luca. He was the first born, so he even had to suffer so much before I was born.”
I gripped the pencil tight and bit down on my bottom lip as my heart clenched painfully at Armani’s
words.
“Growing up and training to take after your father who’s the mafia lord of a mafia as big as ours, wasn’t
an easy task in the slightest way. It was draining, it was life threatening since we were little, and Luca Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
had to carry that burden since he was born.” Armani paused for a moment and glanced up me.
I was gripping the pencil tightly in my hands which I hadn’t realized had began to shake until I felt
Armani’s pointed look on it.
“I’m fine.” I hastily tried to reassure him before he could speak.
