Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 96

As soon as she retreated to the door, Jeremy walked over with his cell phone.

"Jeremy?" After hesitating for a while, Lindsay pretended to have heard nothing. "Are you still busy at such a late hour?"

"Yeah! It's just a small matter from work!" he told her.

Hearing that, Lindsay smiled bitterly. Subconsciously, she hoped that he would not hide it from her. But, at the same time, she was wondering if this was how he cared for her!

Since he did not mention it, she was glad that she did not ask about it earlier.

"Oh, by the way, my clothes are wet. Can you buy me some new clothes? It's... not good for me to go out like this!"

Looking at her, Jeremy said, "It's late! Call your family, and tell them that you are going to sleep here tonight!"

She was secretly overjoyed, but her happiness soon ended. Jeremy said, "I will sleep in the guest room tonight!"

Before she could answer him, Jeremy had already taken a pillow and quilt. He turned to walk out of the room. At this moment, he appeared very annoyed.

As soon as his figure disappeared, Lindsay's whole face twisted.

She swallowed her anger. She had planned this for such a long time, yet there was still another obstacle to overcome? Why was she so miserable? After all that she had done, there was still another hurdle in his family? Was she supposed to wait for a few more years?

Back then, Alicia was able to hold a wedding with him, but at present, she could not even be engaged to him when she had his child?

In that instant, Lindsay was so vexed that she almost went crazy.

She had not even settled things with Alicia, yet someone from the Castle family had suddenly appeared. Why can't she get the happy ending she deserved?

After a playful night, Alicia was exhausted. The next day, she was woken up in a daze by a burst of noise. She shuddered, and the emptiness beside her made her open her eyes. When she sat up, she saw that Frederick was already dressed neatly.

"Hubby?"

"I won't be back for the next few days!"

Those words were like a killjoy. Alicia woke up instantly as a trace of inexplicable disappointment welled up in her heart. She could feel it clearly-the feeling of a one-night stand. The feeling was like when the night was as hot as flames, but when daytime arrived, it became as cold as ice.

"Okay!" she answered.

As if he had sensed her sad emotions, his hands, which were holding a tie, paused. He turned around and walked to the bed. He sat down and rubbed her messy hair.

"It's a business trip! It will take about a week or so. You can go back to your parents' home! But be good, I will check on you at any time!" he told her. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Her eyes lit up. She looked up and all the unhappiness seemed to be swept away. "Okay! You have to take good care of yourself no matter how busy you are. Don't worry about me. I will be obedient!"

With that, she helped him tidy up his loose tie.

He held her beautiful face, stroked her red and swollen lips before lowering his head to give her a deep kiss again.

"Good, it's still early, you should sleep for a while longer!" he said.

His eyes were fixed on her snow-white shoulder. Frederick suddenly felt a burst of impatience in his heart. Recently, he seemed to have fallen a little bit too hard for her. If he did not take a break and calm down, he felt that he even would refuse to go to work in the future!

This woman was really a little siren!

Frederick watched her lie down before quickly walking out the door.

Knowing that he was going on a business trip and would not be back, Alicia was obviously in a different mood.

She pulled the quilt with a beam, hugged his pillow, and went back to sleep.

As soon as Frederick left, Alicia felt like a bird out of her cage. Life was still very comfortable. At least in terms of dancing, she did not have to give it a second thought.

She could also accompany her mother every night. Therefore, she was in a good mood too. However, when she was free, she would miss him a lot!

One day, after work, she thought that she had not seen Mrs. Clements for a long time. Hence, Alicia made a phone call to her. When she confirmed that she was free, she went to look for Mrs. Clements bringing along flowers.

She got these flowers from the roadside. She did not expect them to bloom so beautifully after she planted them at home. She had only recently known that it was called the "Longevity Flower". She remembered that Mrs. Clements liked flowers and plants. She knew that these flowers had a special meaning too. Thus, she brought them over.

Alicia chatted with Mrs. Clements and helped her put the flowers into a prettier vase. Suddenly, her phone rang.

Frederick?

Alicia instantly smiled and said, "Grandma, I'm going to answer a phone call first. It's from Frederick!"

As she spoke, she walked to a tree by the side.

It seemed to be a coincidence too. Every time she came to visit Mrs. Clements, he would call her. Thus, she did not need to pretend to be lovey-dovey with Frederick in front of Mrs. Clements.

When she pressed the answer button, she answered sweetly, "Hubby—"

"Why are you so slow in picking up my call?" he asked. He wondered why she was so busy, even busier than him at work!

Although his tone was a little stern, Alicia was in a good mood. Besides, since she was with Mrs. Clements, the “fire” that he spewed out would be extinguished immediately. Therefore, her voice was still gentle and delicate.

"Hubby, I was accompanying Grandma to plant flowers! My hands were full of mud. Hence, I needed some time! When Grandma realized that you called, she was so happy... Grandma is in good health. Her complexion is good and she is also nice to me. Grandma has been having high blood pressure recently, but you don't have to worry. She has already taken her medicine. The

doctor said that this is normal for her age. There aren't any big problems. I will take good care of Grandma for you! I might stay here overnight to spend more time with her..."

She knew that he cared about Mrs. Clements the most. Perhaps it was because he was a man, he did not have much to say. Chatting too long with an elder was unrealistic too. Thinking that he had the patience to listen to her, she continued to chatter away.

Indeed, as she had foreseen, whenever Frederick heard that she was with his grandmother, his affection for her would increase drastically.

"Okay. If there's anything you need, give me a phone call!"

Frederick's mood seemed to have gradually calmed down.

"Okay! Hubby, I'll take a picture of Grandma and send it to you. By the way, I'll ask Grandma to say a few words to you!" She turned around and handed the phone to Mrs. Clements.

"Grandma, I'll move the flowers for you!" Alicia said.

Seeing how sensible she was to give the two of them some space, Mrs. Clements smiled. "Frederick!" "Grandma-"

The two chatted idly for a while and Grandma said a lot of good things about Alicia. When Alicia came back, he had already hung up the phone.

"Grandma, why didn't you talk to him more? Don't you know that Frederick misses you? He is a man. Sometimes there are things that he keeps in his heart. He is not as chatty as I am!” she said.

Mrs. Clements' favorite trait about Alicia was that she was sensible. Moreover, she knew how to speak for her husband. Therefore, she nodded with a smile and glanced at Alicia's belly.

"Ally, are there any good news yet?" Mrs. Clements asked.

"Huh? Good news?" Alicia was confused.

Suddenly, Alicia blushed. "Grandma, that's too fast!"
