Adolf looked at Avery with a frustrated and anxious look. "What the hell, Avery? How can you say that I

was buttering up Wade Wang? Besides, you are not certain if he even did it on purpose, but I'm pretty

sure that he wanted to blackmail us. Honestly? If he just wants the money, then why not? It's no big

deal, but what's making my blood boil is that he wants to ruin your reputation!

Relief coursed through Adolf as he excitedly walked over to Zed to offer him a hand. "Thank you, Mr.

Qi," he said as Zed accepted his hand for a shake. Then, he looked at the soup dumplings he was

holding.

Thinking about who the dumplings were for, the relief that coursed through him was replaced by anger,

causing him to toss the whole container into the garbage bin.

"Why did you do that?" Looking at him with cold eyes, Avery playfully frowned and added in a sarcastic

tone. "You spent so much time and energy just to please him, so how could you just throw them away?"

Adolf turned to Avery with a frustrated look and replied, "Avery, if you say that again, I will beat you

myself."

As she heard Adolf's words, the corners of Avery's lips lifted into a smile.

Adolf then turned to Zed again and expressed his gratitude once more. "Thank you so much, Mr. Qi, for

all the help and support."

Zed smiled and replied, "You're welcome. It's my pleasure, and besides, what are friends for?"

Adolf's eyebrows furrowed softly as he looked at Zed with a bitter smile on his face. "Even though we

are friends, I feel like I should still thank you for all you have done. For the short period of time that I

have stayed in H City, I have finally met a rude and unreasonable person, who in fact was really who

we think he is.

If you hadn't stepped up to help me, I couldn't imagine what Wade would have done to me," said Adolf.

In reply, Zed gave Adolf a weak smile and fidgeted with his nose after. Even though he was used to

people thanking him, he still felt embarrassed and still didn't know how to respond to it.

Moore was going to send Avery back to her hotel, while Adolf was going to the downtown hospital to

check on his brother, Albert.

After, the group parted and took their own ways.

Jean and Zed entered their car and sat on the leather seats, feeling the exhaustion taking over them.

Jean looked outside on the side of her window, clearly lost in thought.

Zed decided that it was the right time to talk about the atmosphere he had felt moments ago between

Jean and Moore. Before he started his car, he looked at Jean and asked, "What's wrong, Jean? Did

something happen? You look obviously upset."

It took a while before Jean looked up at Zed. She let out a sigh and replied, "Zed, do you think I was

wrong?"

"What do you mean?" Zed asked with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion, not understanding what she
