Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 554 Listen, Don't Cry

Chapter 554 Listen, Don't Cry

"I know you think I am too nosy, Moore," Jean replied, smiling wryly. "But, Moore, we are friends, and I

only want you to be happy. Tell you what, from now on, I will stay away from anything you don't want

me to get involved in. Deal?"

Seeing Jean compromise finally, Moore nodded and replied, "Okay! Good. As you said it, deal!"

"Fine then," Jean confirmed again.

'Idiot! I know you don't want me to do that and dislike it when I do. But even after this deal, I will do it

more tactically and secretly. It will be all the same now too.

I don't believe that you are immune to such beauty as Avery possesses, unless you are not a man.'

Jean smirked with the thought and even her eyes revealed her smugness.

'It was worthwhile to sprain my ankle then.

Moore has forgiven me finally because of that.'

Jean was so happy that she forgot the pain totally. Even when the doctor pressed and pinched her

sprained foot to examine the conditions, she was still smiling all the time.

"It looks like there is no injury to the bone. It was just a muscle strain. You should apply some medicine

where the sprain took place and take some anti-flammatory medicines when you go back home. It

should recover soon,"

The doctor advised as he wrote the prescription and handed it to them.

"Alright. Thanks," Jean replied with a sweet smile.

"Doctor…" Suddenly, Moore furrowed his eyebrows instead of being happy and glanced at Jean who

was smirking to herself. He continued and hearing him, Jean's smirk was wiped off. "She is pregnant.

Can she take these medicines?"

"Pregnant?" The doctor stopped playing with the pens on his desk on hearing Moore's words. He gave

a glance at Jean who was smiling carelessly and sighed, "Luckily your husband mentioned this in time.

These medicines I prescribed are not good for the fetus."

Jean's smile froze when she heard the doctor.

She had almost done something terrible to her own baby just because she had been so carried away.

It was not until now that she got frightened.

"Doctor, I am not her husband. I am just a friend of hers," Moore explained hurriedly.

"You are not her husband? Wow! Then she is even more lucky. You see, even you had the sense to

remind me that she is pregnant, even when the mother is too careless to…"

The doctor shook his head and sighed.

Jean's face flushed.

After they got out of the doctor's office, Jean still looked awkward.

Moore wanted to carry her but she refused.

Moore then detected her strange expression and asked with concern, "What's wrong?"

Jean looked at Moore with tears welled up in her eyes, "Moore, I am such a careless mother. If it hadn't

been for you, the doctor would never have known and I would have almost forgotten that I am

pregnant. And if I took the medicines that were bad for my baby, I would feel guilty all my life…"

She couldn't help crying when she came to that point.

"Jean, don't cry." Seeing her crying out, Moore panicked. "You just forgot momentarily. Don't blame

yourself. After all, you found out that you are pregnant not long ago. You are still adapting yourself to

these new conditions. Listen, don't cry! You just need to remember that you are not alone from now on.

You are going to be a mother, okay?"

"Okay." Only after she heard Moore's comforting words did Jean feel any better.

After waiting for a long time without seeing them come back, Zed walked out of the ward and happened

to see Moore wipe the tears off Jean's face.

His heart was seized immediately and without thinking, he rushed over and asked, "What's wrong? Is

everything okay? What has happened? Why are you crying?"

Jean had just stopped crying. Hearing Zed's questions, tears welled up in her eyes once again and she

looked at Zed pitifully.

Seeing this scene, Moore patted Zed's shoulder and told him, "You have a talk with her and comfort

her. I will go deliver the porridge." Moore showed him the porridge in his hand.

Zed nodded and turned to Jean and softly asked, "What is going on? How did you sprain your ankle?"

He had seen Jean's right ankle wrapped with bandage and Moore supporting her when they came.

"I missed a step and fell just now," Jean said while sobbing continuously. "And Moore took me to see

the doctor…"

Zed listened to her while helping her walk towards the chairs in the corridor. He sat her down on a chair

carefully.

"Does it hurt? Are you crying because it hurts?" Zed asked softly.

"Not at all…" Jean shook her head and raised her reddened eyes to look at Zed, and then continued in

a pitiful tone, "Zed, I… I completely forgot that I am pregnant when the doctor was writing the

prescriptions. I almost let the doctor prescribe some medicines that might have harmed our baby. Do

you think I am an asshole? I don't deserve to be a mother. I am a very bad parent, Zed!"

Zed finally understood what had really happened when he heard her explanation.

He heaved a sigh of relief. He now understood why Moore had left in such a hurry when he saw him.

The doctor was quite right. Pregnant women tend to have great emotional fluctuations due to the

increase of progesterone in the system. Otherwise, Jean wasn't the sort of person who would cry so

easily on such a small thing.

Of course Zed knew that there was another reason. She was scared by herself just now

and was blaming herself

for being so careless and having almost done something wrong to harm her own baby.

"Jean, don't beat yourself up anymore." Zed hugged her and tried to talk her out of the bad emotions.

"Even I doubt myself sometimes and wonder if I am really going to be a father. We are of course

exhilarated for the coming of the baby and we are anxious to see it come to this world. However, you

know, it has been only a very short period of time since we got this news. And you experienced so

many things lately. It is understandable that you forget it momentarily.

Okay, stop crying now. Didn't the doctor tell us last time that your emotions will have some influence on

our child? Now you cry so hard, our child will feel sad too. Do you want our child to be a cry baby when

it comes to this world, just like its mother?"This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

"You are a cry baby yourself," Jean retorted weakly hearing him say that.

Zed smiled immediately as he saw his words work. "Okay, I know you are a brave mom. So for the

sake of your sprained ankle, I will force myself to do the hard job of carrying you back."

"Force yourself?" Jean sniffed. "Your child is in my belly. You will not just carry me, but you have to

carry two persons. If it is too hard for you, then don't bother."

"No, no, no. I will be so glad to do that. It is my pleasure to carry you and the baby!" Zed corrected

himself hurriedly and said with a flattering smile.

He didn't want to cause any more emotional breakdown of Jean at the moment.

Jean curved the corners of her lips and smiled smugly. She put her face on the broad back of Zed with

pride.

Zed carried her carefully and walked outside.
