Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 379 I Trust You

Chapter 379 I Trust You

'So, he knows clearly what Jesse has done.

Then why didn't he stop Jesse?

Instead, he is listening to her.'

Realizing that Benjamin did not like her, Jean felt uneasy. "What did grandpa say to you?" Jean asked,

looking at Zed straight into his eyes.

"Grandpa asked me to explain everything carefully to you. And he told me to maintain a distance in my

relationship with Jesse since I am your husband." Being straightforward, Zed saw no need of hiding

anything from Jean. "When Benjamin spoke those words, I reflected upon it. I realize it was my mistake

and I should take full responsibility for making you misunderstand our relationship. I will be careful in

the future."

Knowing what Benjamin has said, Jean felt even more puzzled.

'According to Zed, grandpa is taking my side. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

Why?

Doesn't he dislike me?

Why is he helping me by telling Zed the right thing to do?

Is it because Zed told grandpa that he loves me? Did he also tell grandpa that he considers Jesse as

his little sister?

I really need to understand what is going on!'

Thinking of this, Jean suddenly let out a sigh of relief. Calmly, she looked at Zed, feeling hard to form

the words.

"Zed, I want to ask you a question. I hope you won't be angry," Jean said, in a patient tone.

Seeing Jean's serious face, he could not help nodding. "Okay, go ahead and ask."

"You just said that grandpa has misunderstood the relationship between Jesse and you. And you have

realized that it was due to your behavior and words. Since even grandpa has been misled, don't you

think Jesse…"

"Jesse won't be misled," Zed said, interrupting Jean from speaking. Feeling guilty, Zed confidently

smiled at her making her realize he didn't intend to be rude. "Definitely, Jesse won't misunderstand the

relationship between us. She knows clearly that she is my little sister while I am her brother," Zed

continued, in the same calm tone.

"Why are you sure about this? After growing up, you both didn't hang out much. So why are you so

confident that she still knows you well?" Jean asked, looking puzzled at his confidence.

"I don't know how to explain this kind of thing to you." Zed shook his head with a bitter smile. "But I can

assure you that Jesse will not misunderstand our relationship."

Hearing that, Jean had no choice but to stop. 'He won't listen to me, ' Jean thought.

"Well! It seems that the relationship between the two of you is really deep. There has been no change

in the past 20 years," Jean said with a sigh.

"Well, since you have already understood the relationship between Jesse and me, you should not be

worried about this problem in the future. Otherwise, it will be hard for us to stay happy," Zed warned,

and he meant each and every word he just said.

"Okay." Jean nodded at Zed and tried to smile. Deep down, she wasn't satisfied with his replies.

'After loving you so much, it would be really stupid to distrust you, ' Jean said in her mind.

In fact, Jean was clear that Zed was worthy of her trust.

But every time she saw that he stood at Jesse's side in front of her, Jean felt unhappy and could not

help quarreling with Zed.

After every quarrel, Jean felt upset. Moreover, she didn't trust Jesse and her intentions.

"It's time to sleep! It's too late now…" Jean murmured, while she hugged Zed and buried her head in

his chest.

Feeling her caring touch, Zed also reached out to hug Jean. Seeing that Jean quickly fell asleep, Zed

gazed at the ceiling for a long time until sleep found him.

The next day, Zed had already left the room when Jean woke up.

Being drowsy, Jean rubbed her eyes and went into the washroom. After the morning wash, she

changed her clothes and walked downstairs.

Benjamin was sitting on the sofa in the living room and reading newspaper while Jesse and Dan were

absent from the place. Jean felt a little strange about it because she almost always saw Dan and Jesse

accompany him.

"Good morning, grandpa." Jean smiled and greeted Benjamin.

Jean was happy and thankful. Last night, it wouldn't have been easy to reconcile with Zed if Benjamin's

hadn't helped her.

Hearing this, Benjamin turned his eyes away from the newspaper. He glanced at Jean who was bright

and radiant. Seeing her expression, he could not help but frown.

As for Jean, she has become accustomed to his frowns and stopped taking it to her heart.

She realized by greeting Benjamin, she has done her part. To like her or to not was his duty and she

shouldn't wrack her brain over it.

When Jean was about to walk to the dining room, Benjamin called her. "Come here…"

Jean stopped in her steps and immediately looked around to make sure that no one else was there.

"Grandpa, do you want to talk to me?" she asked and walked over to Benjamin. There she stood

obediently waiting for his response.

Hearing her doubtful tone, Benjamin's frown deepened and he looked at her angrily. "There is no one

else in the house. Who else can I be talking to?"

Hearing that, Jean also felt that her question was irrelevant. She could not help smiling. "Grandpa,

what are you calling me for?" she asked, continuing to smile.

"Can't I talk with you if there is nothing?" Benjamin felt even more uncomfortable in his heart. Her

words annoyed him a great deal.

'Why did Zed fall in love with such a stupid girl?

It is no wonder that Jesse is unwilling to give up Zed for this silly girl.

Even in my eyes, I feel that Jean is not excellent enough to match Zed.'

Seeing that Benjamin was unhappy, Jean fidgeted uncomfortably.

'It seems that I can't behave casually even if he has helped me and Zed maintain our relationship.

Benjamin is still ill-tempered. I should be careful!'

"Grandpa, have you eaten breakfast? How about eating breakfast with me?" Jean flashed him a smile

while she questioned him.

"I am not hungry now. Sit down and talk to me," Benjamin warned, with a cold look on his eyes.

Hearing his strict tone, Jean immediately felt nervous. But she still sat on the opposite side of

Benjamin, with a humble smile on her face.

Seeing that Jean has decided to behave well, Benjamin nodded with satisfaction and his facial

expression softened.

"As Zed's grandfather, I should not interfere in your marriage with Zed. I don't care about the reason

why you got married. Since you are Zed's wife now, I hope that you can behave well. Don't damage our

family's reputation." There was seriousness in Benjamin's eyes while he glared at Jean. This made

Jean feel very small and she wanted to disappear badly.

Her shock and nervousness turned into sweat. With the back of her hand, she rubbed the sweat off her

forehead.

Now she realized that Benjamin had waited here to advise her. Her mannerism, according to him,

wasn't very impressive. This thought brought humiliation in her heart.

"Okay, grandpa. I understand that. I will be careful and try my best to not make Zed feel embarrassed,"

Jean quickly replied.

Hearing Jean's answer, Benjamin listened with an intent and serious look. He carried on to look at Jean

with piercing eyes.

Feeling judged, Jean's entire body started to tremble.

At that moment, she hoped that Jesse could come back as soon as possible.

The atmosphere was suffocating and killing her.

Not wanting to create further trouble, Jean maintained her composure and behaved obediently. Putting

on a fake smile, she listened to Benjamin's advice carefully.

"You know clearly that I don't like you. But Zed has already married you so there is nothing much I can

do about it. As a member of our family, I hope that you can put a full stop to your previous problems.

Don't go dragging them around and making a mountain out of a molehill. Do you understand what I

mean?" Benjamin looked at Jean expecting an answer.

Jean couldn't help raising her head and looking at Benjamin. 'Problems?

What problem is he talking about?

Was he referring to the problems of the Wen family?'

Seeing that Jean was still confused, Benjamin realized she was incapable of understanding things

quickly.

'This girl is not smart at all.'
