“Are you married?” Meagan heard herself say to him.

Carl already had his clothes on his body when she came back to the room. She grabbed another nightgown from her box and wore it.

Carl smiled in satisfaction when she lay on the bed. They were both tired. Carl had to leave because morning would come very soon.

“I should leave now, Allison.” Carl said.

Meagan glanced at the alarm on the drawer. The time was 4:00 am.

“Yeah.. you should leave before everyone wakes up.” Meagan sighed.

“No one would see me, trust me.” Carl replied.

Meagan shook her head in response followed by a yawn.

“You should get enough rest.” Carl said.

“You should rest too.” She replied.

Carl knew he was definitely going to see her again during the entrance rehearsal and she would find out about him. But he didn’t say anything. He would figure out a way to handle things when the time comes.

“Will you attend the wedding?” Meagan asked as she drew the bed cover over her body.

“Sure. I have to honor the beta of this pack.” Carl answered, standing from the bed.

“Alright.” She mumbled.

“Do you want to meet up after the wedding?” Carl bit his lower lip.

She yawned. “We can meet up before the wedding. No.. I don’t know yet. But we can reach an agreement if we bump into each other at the wedding.” She responded.

“Alright. See you later, Allison.” He motioned towards the door and slid out into the silent hallway.

Meagan reached for her phone under the pillow and she turned it on. Forgetting to set the alarm to the time for rehearsal.

Meagan drifted off to sleep quickly as she dreamt about the time she had spent with the stranger.
