Chapter 3531
“Marcus was right. You're a very ungrateful man. You thought I couldn't forget about Calvin because I have a crush on him. So, you decided to cheat on me with that woman as an act of revenge against me, but the truths that Evelyn and I would have died long ago if Calvin had not helped us when we were in Braseovell! Thanks to you, Calvin died in a foreign country all alone. Still, you think I shouldn't even pay tribute to him just once a year on the day he died?!" Her anger and hurt was clearly expressed in her voice as she spoke.
At the same time, she felt the whole thing was somehow ridiculous.
Leonel slowly went down on his knees, trying to hug her and calm her down.
But Alexis resisted his efforts. She didn't even want to see his face, not to mention allowing him to touch her.
“Leonel, let's get divorced. I don't love you anymore,” she told him straightforwardly.
Leonel trembled when he heard this.
But he tried his best to mask it. The fact that it was dark made it even easier. “You need to leave now.” Alexis added. She was tired of seeing his face.
But Leonel refused. “No, I'm not leaving. I'l stay here with you," he insisted.
Not wanting to waste her time with him any further, Alexis went back to her bedroom, but he followed her. The moment they stepped into the room, he pressed her against the door and ki*sed her wildly. He wanted
to arouse her and invoke good memories of how things were between them.

“Control yourself, Leonel,” she scolded him instead. “Is Anika not enough for you? Can't that
woman satisfy you?” Leonel’s face turned pale as soon as he heard this.
Clenching his fists in anger, he coldly retorted, “Why don't you want to believe me? I told you I never had s@x with her!” But Alexis acted like she couldn't care less what he was saying.

She really needed to go to bed and get some much needed sleep. She told herself that after a good sleep, everything would be fine the next day and she would go back to being her old self.
So, ignoring Leonel, she climbed onto the big bed and tucked herself in.
Leonel wanted to join her, but he knew how much she hated his guts right now, so he changed his mind and slumped down on the sofa instead.
After the lights had been turned off, Alexis lay quietly on the bed, breathing evenly. Clearly, she had fallen asleep.
Leonel, on the other hand, lay there in the dark, his heart filled with pain.
Perhaps because he was too tired, Leonel slept all through the night.
When he finally woke up in the morning, the sunlight was shining into the bedroom through the gauze curtain, making the room warm and cozy. The furniture looked just as it had always been. In fact, he could even smell the scent of Alexis’ body wash.
ALL of these combined made him fall into a trance-like state.
He sat up and stared blankly at his surroundings, unable to tell whether it was reality or it was just a dream.
