Chapter 150
Chapter 150
Everyone in the room was startled.
Jonathan disregarded the ache in his waist and rose from bed to help Thomas get up “Grandpa, are you okay?” His voice was trembling-
At the same time, Paul hurried over to offer support as well. Alas, Thomas offered no response as his face turned increasingly pallid. “Please, save my Grandpa” Jonathan fixed his stare at Cynthia, his bloodless face mirroring Thomas
Cynthia was at a loss. Despite the previous first–aid method’s efficacy, Evan mentioned fut the patient had to be sent to the hospital immediately after that. They should also avoid being overstimulated during the interim, or else they would never be revived if they were to collapse. Regardless, she held out hope while administering first aid. Yet, Thomas remained unconscious after ten minutes, and his body gradually stiffened.
“There’s nothing I can do about it. My apologies Cynthia held back tears as she excused herself, giving the Frost family privacy to spend time with Thomas during has final moments.

Liam embraced Cynthia and comforted her softly. “It’s not your fault. This could have been avoided if Mr. Frost had gone to the hosp He shouldn’t have taken his life so lightly”
Out of the blue, an anguished wail sounded within the room. Grandpa, please wake up! I’ve yet to marry or have children yet. How could you leave just like this”
Jonathan vigorously shook Thomas‘ body, which had slowly turned cold, trying to wake him up. The tears blurring his sight prevented him from seeing Thomas‘ face clearly. This, he wiped them
off fervently and held Thomas lifeless body in his arms, preventing anyone else from tosiching him.
Paul couldn’t bear seeing his son in anguish and said in a low voice, “Don’t be like this, Jonathan. We’re all devastated about your Grandpa’s passing” In response, Jonathan cried out, his eyes bloodshot, “Go away?” He didn’t want anyone taking Thomas from li
him at that moment Jonathan had never known his mother, and Paul focused all his attention on the company, so it was Thomas who raised him. Thomas taught. Jonathan how to read, write, and navigate life’s principles. Their houd was closer than that of a father and son. Now, Jonathan couldn’t bear the thought of being responsible for his beloved grandfather’s death. He began trembling all over, overwhelmed by guilt and sorrow,
He kissed Thomas‘ forehead repeatedly, muttering. “You’re mad at me. That must be why you won’t wake up and talk to me, right? I promise to be obedient from now on, so please wake up, I admit my mistakes, Grandpa. You can even scold and hit me all you want when you wake up.”
Grief and anger overwhelmed jonathan as he struggled to comprehend the tragic turn of events. That morning, he had been joyfully celebrating. Thomas‘ birthday, only to lose him forever just a few hours later. This shouldn’t have happened, was his final thought before he blacked out and collapsed beside Thomas.
Jonathan was Paul’s only son, after all. Seeing Jonathan collapse, he was frightened and stepped forward hastily in shock. “Ms. Larson, please take a look at Jonathan!”
Cynthia squatted down and did a check–up on Jonathan’s condition. “He’s probably just too worked up and will be fine after some rest.”
Due to the unexpected tragedy at the party, all the guests departed after expressing their condolences.
Jasmine was similarly in a somber mood. After all, it was hard to accept the sudden death of her old friend. She had wanted to join t in arranging Thomas‘ funeral hat was turned away. As it was getting late, they had no choice but to head home.
the Frost family
David, too, was in low spirits on the way back. Despite his disdain for Thomas, he had never anticipated the latter’s sudden passing “Dear, do you think Thomas held such a grand birthday party and gave that speech because he sensed he was dying?” Jasmine asked with a heavy hear
David responded, “Perhaps. I read on the news that there are signs before one’s passing”
“Remember to inform me if such signs appear for you. Don’t leave me behind all of a sudden. I’ll do the same and inform you, too,” said Jasmine. Hearing that, David gave Jasmine’s cheek a light tap. “Shush. Stop talking about this. It’s bad luck.”
From her seat in front, Cynthia turned around. “Don’t worry, Grandma. You are perfectly healthy and won’t have any problem reaching a hundred years old. You can worry about that in the far future”
Cynthia decided to give David and Jasmine a physical examination the next time she went home. Though not her biological grandparents, they had provided her with familial warmth, and she wished to hold onto that for as long as possible. Determined to avoid the regrets she felt with Thomas‘ passing, she resolved to do everything in her power to ensure their well–being, cherishing the time they had left together.
After sending David and Jasmine back to the Sullivan residence, Liam brought Cynthia back to Regalian Garden
Meanwhile, Yolanda had not left the Frost residence. She worried that things would change due to Thomas sudden death. The members of the Frost family were so busy dealing with Thomas‘ affairs that they paid her no heed. After briefly lingering in the living room, she went straight to Jonathan’s rooIT
Faul was there when she entered. He sighed upon seeing her. “I have no time to stay here as Dad’s matters haven’t been settled. Since Jonathan has agreed with you bring his girlfriend, you may look after him here.”
“Yes, Mr. Frost” Yolanda nodded obediently.
Once Paul left. Yolanda sat by the bed and gazed at the unconscious Jonathan, the look in her eyes hardening
Jonathan finally regained consciousness after having passed out for an entire day. The moment he saw Yolanda, he frowned. “Why are you here!”
She was about to wipe Jonathan’s face with a towel when she heard that question. Leaning over, she sounded him out tentatively. Tim your girlfriend now. You’ve passed out, so it’s only natural for me to look after you
With disdain, Jonathan yanked the towel off his face. Tll do it myself. You may leave now,” he uttered stomily. Her presence reminded him of Thomas‘ death.
“Mr. Frost, are you going back on your word?” Yolanda refused to budge
Jonathan shifted his piercing gaze toward her, the look in his eyes inscrutable. “Are you really convinced I was the one who defled you?”
“It’s the truth. Why shouldn’t I be convinced?” Yolanda didn’t know why he still asked this question at this point. Despite her trepidation, she feigned composure.
“Fine,” Jonathan shut his eyes, repulsed by the sight of Yolanda. “Go on back for now. I will see you once Grandpa’s funeral is over and give you a satisfactory answer.”
Yolanda didn’t want to stay there in the first place so she left without hesitation, leaving him to stare up at the ceiling blankly
Thomas funeral was held two days later.
Jonathan knelt in front of the funeral parlor listlessly in a black salt. He had remained there for two days and barely ate anything, merely drinking some water. As a result, he even lost several pounds and had stubble on his face.
