A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO

Chapter 75: You should be dead.

Chapter 75: You should be dead.

“I think we have gotten all the things we need.” Fred said, holding hands with Amelia in the shopping mall.

“Don’t you think we should get a Walker for Alice? I can’t keep carrying her around. She is growing weighty day by day.” Amelia grumbled.

Fred chuckled and bounced his head. “That’s true. Let’s go and get it then.”

“But can I at least use my card? You have been paying the bills since we got here, and you have spent a lot already.”

Feed looked at her and let out a soft smile. “You’re worrying about me?” He asked.

“Of course, I am worried about you. Why doesn’t it seem like a surprise to you?”

“It’s happening so fast, Amelia. I thought I’d have to pressure you so much before you’d say yes to me. But it seems pretty easy.”

Amelia clenched her jaw and looked away. “Are you trying to say I’m easy?” She asked, feeling offended by his words.

“Oh no! That’s not what I meant.”

Amelia broke into laughter and shook her head. “Calm down, Fred. I was just teasing you, okay? Let’s get the Walker so that we can go back to the house as soon as possible.”

They got to where the Walker was being displayed and began to contemplate on which one to choose.

Amelia looked around them and tried to find anything that could help James find her if she finally got in touch with him. Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

The people around didn’t seem to recognize her, even though she was quite popular in Alabama. She needed someone she could tell about her problems.

‘Everyone here is minding his business. I need to know how to get to James as soon as possible.’ Amelia thought.

“Amelia, look at this? This is pretty! Blue, just like her eyes!” Fred said to her excitedly.

She looked at the Walker and nodded. “This is perfect. Let’s put her in it.”

Fred moved closer to her and placed the Walker in front of her. She carefully placed Alice in it and adjusted the belt to hold her to the chair firmly.

“I love it.” She uttered, and Fred giggled.

“We’re getting it. What else do you want? You can ask me for anything.”

“Errrm… I… I need to use the restroom.” She muttered.

After hearing her request, Fred felt uncomfortable. He wasn’t sure letting her go to the restroom alone was a good idea. He was yet to trust her completely.

After Amelia watched his countenance for some time, she sighed and threw her hands in the air.

“It’s fine. I’ll do it when we get home. Let’s go.” She uttered with a frown.

“No, that’s not it!”

“Then what is it, Fred? When are you going to ever trust me? I’m going to the restroom. Alice would be with you because I can’t take her there. Would I think of running away without my daughter? I trust you and that’s why I’m doing all these with you.” She uttered angrily.

“I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry. I promise to trust you from now on. You can use the restroom, I’ll be with Alice here. Please don’t run away.”

A smile crept up Amelia’s face and she nodded. “I’ll be back in a few minutes. Take good care of our baby girl.”

Amelia turned to leave and as she left, she didn’t look back for once. She headed right for the bathroom.

‘I need to get in touch with James. But how do I do this? I don’t know his phone number offhand. He doesn’t accept unknown line IDs on time. I don’t have so much time on my side! What do I do?’

She reminisced as she sighted the bathroom in front of her. She got into the bathroom and shut the door behind her. She rested her back on the door and hit the back of her head on it slowly.

‘He doesn’t trust me at all. What if he has a tracking device on me? I can’t do anything stupid now.’

She heaved a loud sigh and before she could open her eyes, she heard a door close. She opened her eyes and saw a very familiar elderly woman step out of one of the toilets.

She let out a fake grin and walked to the basins. The woman looked at her and also smiled as she walked to the basins too.

She furrowed her brows as she stared at this elderly woman. ‘This isn’t possible. I must be hallucinating or something! Gosh, I’m so stressed.’ She thought, looking at the mirror.

“Are you okay, miss?” The woman asked, and Amelia nodded.

“Yes, I’m fine, thank you.” She answered, opening the tap. She took some water in her palm and rinsed her face aggressively. She looked at this woman again and creased her brows.

“Are you sure? You don’t look so good.”

The woman placed her hand on her shoulder, and Amelia jolted and moved back.

“Who are you?” She mumbled, still walking back.

“I’m lost. I’m just concerned about you, that’s all. I’m not going to harm you, okay?”

“You are supposed to be dead!” Amelia screamed as tears streamed down her eyes uncontrollably.

“Dead? Hey, child. Are you alright? I don’t know what you are talking about. Please calm down.”

“Tell me your name!” Amelia yelled.

“I’m Susan. And I promise not to hurt you. What’s your name?” Susan raised her hand, trying to show Amelia she was harmless.

“Why do you look so much like her? Why do you look so much like my mum?!”

Susan raised her eyesbrows as she stared at her. Now she knew what was going on.

“So you lost your mum? I’m so sorry for your loss, dear. But I’m not your mother.”

“Let me see your arm! You have a mole on your right arm!” Amelia continued speaking in a loud voice.

Susan narrowed her gaze at her and moved back slowly. “Who are you? How do you know I have a mole on my right arm?!” Susan sounded terrified.

“Oh God… this isn’t happening!” Amelia screamed.

She grabbed the door knob, opened the door, and ran out of the restroom.

“Wait! Who are you? What is your name?!” Susan yelled and chased after her.

“Stop coming after me! You are a ghost!” Amelia yelled and ended up bumping into Fred. She was panting seriously and she embraced him too tightly that hw could hardly breathe.

“Hey, Amelia. What’s going on?” He asked in terror and worry.

“She… she… a ghost! My mom’s ghost is after me!” She cried out.

Fred looked up and saw an elderly woman staring at them. She wanted to move closer, but she changed her mind when Fred shot her a deadly snare.

Susan turned and walked away slowly, occasionally looking back at Amelia until she couldn’t see her anymore.

“Amelia, there’s no one, okay? It’s all in your head. Just your imagination.” Fred uttered and kissed her head.

“No! It’s not in my head! I saw her, she touched me, she spoke to me!” Amelia muttered, shaking vigorously in Fred’s arms.

“It’s okay now. No one is coming after you. I won’t let anyone hurt you, okay? I promise.”

Amelia bounced her head and broke into tears in his arms. Fred embraced her with one arm and held Alice’s Walker with the hand.

Amelia refused to let go of Fred for some time, and he didn’t bother to disturb her. She loved the way she clung unto him.

Soon, she stopped sobbing and realized that she had been embracing Fred all along. She suddenly moved away from him and avoided eye contact.

“I’m sorry. I must have made you so uncomfortable. I guess I’ve been so stressed out and I’m beginning to see things.”

Fred sighed and held her hand. “It’s okay, Amelia. When we get home, you’ll rest better. I’m sorry for letting you go through all these on your period.”

She bounced her head and looked round the mall for susan, but she was nowhere to be found.

‘Could I have been hallucinating? But it looked so real.’ She reminisced.

“There’s nothing, Amelia. Let’s go back home. You need to relax.” Fred said, and she nodded reluctantly.

She took Alice’s Walker from him, while he carried the bags. He paid all the bills and they all headed out of the mall.

Amelia kept looking back as they walked to the road to board a taxi. She tried to convince herself that she was just under the influence of stress, but another apart of her kept telling her it was real.

‘How can a woman that has died over fifteen years be real? Amelia, something is wrong with you. Your head is messed up.’ She thought to herself.

Susan couldn’t stop thinking about what happened at the shopping mall. She got home and sat on the chair, thinking about it over and over again.

“Who is she? Why did she say those things to me?” She muttered.

‘How did she know about the mole on my arm? As she met me before? Have I seen her before?’ She pushed so hard, trying to remember but she got to her limit and her head began to hurt her seriously.

She grabbed her head and let out a loud groan.

“Susan?!” Tonia, an old woman rushed out of the nearby room after hearing Susan groaning.

“Hey… when did you get back? Are you doing it again? I told you never to force it.”

She held Susan and pulled her into her bosom.

“I… I saw a young lady today. She was so weird.” Susan muttered as she sobbed quietly.

“You don’t have to tell me about that now, okay? Stop trying to get your memories back! The doctor said it could kill you. It will come back on its own. Don’t force it!” Tonia said.

Susan exhaled softly and lowered her head in sadness.

“She said I should be dead. She knew I had a mole on my right arm. She seemed so terrified when she saw me. She called me mum. I’m so confused! I want my memories back. I scared her and I feel horrible for that.”

“Just calm down? You can always think about this later. You can always question her later. You're not the one who is so eager to get your memories back. I also want the same thing. I want you to get your old back like, but I won’t let you kill yourself in the process. So stop forcing it!” Tonia muttered aloud as tears heated her eyes.

Susan embraced her too and they both kept weeping.

‘Who are you?’
