A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO

Chapter 72: She wants to kiss me?

Chapter 72: She wants to kiss me?

The car pulled up in front of another house, this time a few houses surrounded this house, but they were too few to make Amelia comfortable.

"You should move it now. My job is done." The

masked driver uttered, and that was when Amelia realized that Fred had been staring at her the whole time.

Alive clenched her jaws and opened the door, holding Alice carefully to herself.

She looked around the remote road, trying to make a guess about where they were, but she got nothing.

All she knew was that it was very far from where they first were.

"Come with me." Fred said to her, swaying the key in his hand.

"Why are we here? Why did we leave the other house? What are you planning?"

"Too many questions after such a long ride. Don't you want to rest? If you don't want to rest, I want to rest."

He opened the door and stepped aside for Amelia to walk in first.

"Fred! Alice shouldn't be in a situation like this. She is too young to go through all these. It's me you want, right? Can't you let me give her back to James?"

"No, I can't. I love Alice too. If I give her back to James, she wouldn't be breastfed well. Wouldn't this affect her? Now, come in, okay? Alice needs to rest."

Amelia heaved a loud sigh and walked into this new house. She stood at the door and looked around the living room.

There was not much paparazzi going on. The living room was medium sized, with furniture that looked neither expensive nor cheap. It was for the middle-class family.

"Feel at home." Fred uttered and stepped out of the house, he locked the door behind him and walked to the car that brought them there.

Amelia carefully placed Alice on the couch and rushed to the window. She lifted the curtain slightly and peered out.

She saw Fred having a chat with the masked driver. It seemed like a serious discussion.

"Who the hell are you?" Amelia whispered, still watching them. She wanted to see him take off that mask, but unfortunately, he was super careful.

The masked guy stepped into the car and Fred headed back to the house. Amelia hurriedly moved to the couch and sat next to Alice.

Alice opened her eyes and looked at Amelia, She let out a wide smile that melted Amelia's heart.

"My baby girl. I hope you slept well." She said, and Alice lifted her little hands and chuckled.

Amelia lifted her with her hands and embraced her. She patted her and kept moving her hands up and down as she was playing with her.

Fred walked in and saw them having fun. He didn't know when a smile crossed his face. He felt wholesome seeing them happy.

"I want to see her too." He said as he approached them. He sat on the couch and stretched his hands forward to receive her.

Amelia stared at his hand and shook her head. She wasn't sure giving her to him was a good idea.

"C'mon, Amelia. If I wanted to hurt her, I would've. She was with me for almost three days before I contacted you, right? Did you see anything strange about her? I just want to hold her, okay?"

Amelia gulped hard as she listened to him. She slowly nodded her head and moved Alice away from her shoulder.

She stretched her to him, and he received her with happiness. He smiled widely at Alice, and Alice giggled very hard.

Amelia shook her head and looked away. 'He is the bad guy, Alice. You can't keep smiling at everyone.' She thought to herself.

"Woah! She likes me! She is so cute!"

"She is a baby. She doesn't know the friend from the enemy." Amelia mumbled.

"But I am no enemy."

"Then why are we here? How long do I have to stay here with you?"

"Until you have no reason to think about James and go back to him."

"Why? What did James ever do to you?" She asked out of curiosity.

"He was hurting you so much. Isn't that enough reason?"

"He was! Not anymore, Fred. I appreciate your concern for me, but there is nothing like that anymore. We are happy now."

"But I am not. James has always been a pain in my ass. First, he kicked my Casino out of business, collected all my clients, and never gave me that chance to be up there."

"What? I don't understand. You have known James before we first met at his Casino?"

"Of course, but he didn't know me. I once had a casino in that same place where he mounted his own. I went to Alaska on a business trip, only for me to hear the news that my casino was demolished by one James Parker, before it wasn't a successful casino."

"But..."

"Don't try to speak for him. You weren't there when all these happened. It's been a long time. I wanted Justice, but didn't get one because he had connections everywhere. His father was always behind him, whereas I had no one. I was growing on my own, without anyone. Why did he have to build his Casino at that same spot? There are other lands in Alabama."

Amelia exhaled and moved closer to him. He was still smiling at Alice when he felt Amelia move close to him.

He looked at her face and down to her hand which sat perfectly on his thighs.

"I'm sorry you had to go through all of these, Fred. I never knew something that great had happened between you two. Did you try talking to James about it?"

"Talking?" He scoffed. "He was always nowhere to be found. Was always moving from one country to another. He never paid attention to me."

"So you came to that Casino to talk to him in person?"All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

"Yes. I heard he was going to be visiting, so I wanted to try my luck but I ended up missing his wife. It was the first time I was going to meet him in person too."

"I'm sorry, Fred." Her eyebrows fell in sadness.

"Why? I wasn't poor then, and I'm still not poor. I just hated the fact that I was being cheated because he knew more people than I did then."

"I'm sorry because if I didn't bother you that evening, you could have gotten a chance to talk to him."

Fred smiled faintly and shook his head. "Don't blame yourself. I don't regret what happened that night."

"I can help you. I can help you talk to James. He can let go of the Casino and hand it over to you. Just let me help you. Please."

"And then I'll let you go?"

"Isn't this because you want to get back what is yours? Because you want him to finally give you that attention? Once you have it, you can let us go, right?"

Fred scoffed and stood to his feet. He placed

Alice on his chest and held her head to his chest with his left hand.

"Truly, I want James to suffer and give me attention. But, that isn't why you are here. You're here because I want you. Since that day you kissed me, I have always wanted you, but you kept pushing me away for such a useless man."

"Fred." She stood up and wanted to touch him but he moved away.

"That is enough. I'll prepare dinner for us. We'll eat as a family."

He gave Alice back to her and walked away. Amelia looked at Alice's cute face sadly. Alice touched her cheeks with her small palm and grinned.

"What do we do? He is never going to let us see daddy. We need to talk to Daddy before things get out of hand." She whispered to Alice, and all she got was a giggle as a response.

'Oh, you poor girl. You have no idea what we are in.' She thought.

Fred was preparing spaghetti and sauce, the aroma filled the air, and he could hear this tummy grumble.

His phone began to vibrate in his pants and he pulled it out.

"Who is it this time?" He mumbled and checked the caller. He exhaled loudly and answered the phone.

"Are you somewhere safe now?"

"Yes."

"We need to be extra careful now. James is beginning to suspect that there is an informant from inside. I need to stop calling you."

"I knew this would happen. What is the next plan?"

"Lay low and make her fall in love with you. Isn't that the plan? I don't want him anywhere Amelia again! He is no good for her."

"So you believe I'm better?"

"Anybody outside the Parker's family will always be better! Just do your job, and I won't hesitate to spoil you with money. Keep them safe and out of reach."

"Alright."

"I won't call you until further notice, and don't you dare call me. The cops are everywhere around me."

"I got it the first time. I won't call you. I know the risk that comes with doing that. I'll hang up now."

He hastily hung up when he noticed the presence of someone in the kitchen.

"Do you need help? I found the cradle you got, and I placed Alice in it already. Thank you for the toys too. That would keep her busy."

"It's no big deal. And, I'm almost done here. You can just sit back and relax. I'll do the work for you now." He uttered excitedly.

This made Amelia even more uncomfortable. She nodded and rested her back on the Kitchen door.

"Who were you talking to?" She asked.

He swallowed and turned his head to look at her. "Just a friend. Why are you asking?"

"Can I know this friend? If we're to be a couple, wouldn't I at least know any of your friends?"

Fred's eyes widened after hearing her statement. He turned to look at her and dropped the spoon in his hand.

"Does this mean you are considering my offer?" He asked.

Amelia giggled and bounced her head. "Of c course, I am. You have been so good to me, and I do understand why you are doing this. We both have been hurt by the same person. We deserve to be happy."

Fred's mouth fell open in awe. He never expected those words to proceed out of her mouth.

"You are trying to play me, right? You think I'm going to fall for that?"

Amelia shook her head and walked up to him. She took his face in her hand and caressed it softly.

"Play you? What would I gain from doing that? I just want to be happy with Alice and live the moment." She kept her eyes on his lips as she spoke.

"Stop looking at me like that." Fred's voice turned inaudible. He was weak in the legs because of how her breath brushed his face when she spoke.

"I want to kiss you." She whispered, and Fred's heart made a loud thud inside of him as it hit aggressively against his chest.

'She wants to kiss me too?!'
