CHAPTER 153
Harriette’s POV
I returned to the room and realized Ella was waiting for me. She was ready to leave. She was fully dressed and had a sling bag across her chest. She lifted her eyes to the door when I came in. I was sure that the sling bag contained her most valuable things.
“Is it time?” She asked.
I shook my head. “Not tonight,”
She stared at me for a while. I looked away but within a second, I looked back at her. I could swear that I saw a smirk on Ella’s face before she turned to change out of ther outfit.
I frowned.
It wasn’t possible, right? Whatever it was that I saw didn’t just happen, right?
“Whose clothes are those?” Ella pointed to the clothes I was wearing,
“No one’s,” I lied. “I just poked them up from the garbage can outside,”
She looked at me suspiciously before she got into bed and slept off.
Although I removed my clothes, I found it difficult to put them down. It was engulfed with Rowan’s scent and somehow, I didn’t hate that. I wore the sweat top back to sleep.
The events of that night ran through my head and I felt embarrassed, hot, and short of words at the same time. I couldn’t explain what I was feeling in between my thighs, but every time I closed my eyes to sleep, I felt this sensation that made my toes curl and made me feel as though I was back in that room, tangled up against Alpha Rowan while he kissed me senseless. If I sat in an interview room and was asked why I kissed him, I’d probably fail because I had no answer to that question.
Why did you do that, Harriette? You could’ve just walked away. What were you thinking? Are you stupid?
I had no other explanation other than, something usually pulled me to Alpha Rowan and when I was in that room, whatever it was became stronger than my control.
Mother would hate me for a century or more if she found out what I did tonight.
I turned over and over on my bed until it was five am in the morning. I didn’t sleep a wink at all. How was that even possible? I was always a heavy sleeper ever since I was a kid. Even though it was usually a dreamless sleep, still, I never had a problem with sleeping.
Mother said it helped to keep me straight and keep bad memories away. To date, I never understood what she meant by that. A knock resounded on the door at exactly two minutes past five. I knew the exact time because I looked at the watch as I wondered what lunatic knocked on the door at five in the morning.
Alas, the ‘lunatic‘ was Commander Mika. I swallowed hard.
“Who’s it, Harriette?” Ella asked. She had woken up from sleep.
“It’s for me,” I informed her. She went back to sleep even before I could tell her to.
“Morning, sleeping beauty. Come on, we don’t want to be late for training,”
She passed my training kits to me. I almost groaned. I was grateful she went through the trouble of getting my training kits for
- me.
I wasn’t in the mood for training but I didn’t have a choice. I just wanted to lie in bed all day and get some good sleep.
Shit! That was wrong, Harriette. It was a grave sin to be lazy, Mother had warned. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
Chapter 153
I walked back outside once I was done. Commander Mika urged me to run along with her.
One by one, other warriors joined us as we ran laps around the pack. I stopped for water at intervals at a fountain. The perimeter borders never ceased to mesmerize me. The security, the control, the arrangement of warriors were all brilliantly executed.
By the time we were done, it was almost noon. We all sat around the fountain and listened to Commander Mika giving out duties to almost everyone. Every warrior had a group for their duties aside from strength levels. I assumed I would be getting
one soon too.
“You’re all dismissed,” Commander Mika finally said and I could hear happy groans from everyone around me.
“Stay behind, Harriette,”
I was about to ask her why when I saw Alpha Rowan walking towards us. I’d been grateful I didn’t see her all morning. The events of yesterday came rushing to my head again. I quickly looked away from him and focused on something else.
I asked him to stop kissing me last night because I couldn’t handle it. It was too much for me. The more he kissed me, the more I felt I was being sucked into something. The more I felt as though something trapped was getting released inside of
- me.
“Harriette,” Commander Mika called, getting my attention.
“Yes, Commander,”
“Since its your first morning training, any questions?” She asked.
“Would I be added to a group as well?” I asked.
“Of course, in a little while,”
She smiled softly at me. “We still have a painting session today, don’t forget it,”
I clicked my tongue. I’d forgotten about that because I thought I wouldn’t be in the pack that day.
“Yes, commander,” I replied sluggishly.
“You’re still going to come even if you don’t want to. So, stop dragging your words and your feet,” She said as I returned to the fountain.
I rolled my eyes at her words but I made sure she couldn’t see that.
“What painting session? Can I join?” Gideon asked, walking up to me.
He wanted to place his hand on my shoulder but suddenly stopped halfway. I frowned as I watched his hand hanging in the air. What was going on? That would be the second time he would be doing that.
Commander Mika laughed and I found that weird too.
“Harriette,” Alpha Rowan suddenly called.
“Yes, Alpha?”
“Walk with me,” he commanded.
There was no way I would say no. The baritone of his voice and his alpha command all messed me to crawl, I wouldn’t be surprised if I found myself on the floor.
up with my head..If he asked
Once we’d walked away from the others, I said, “If this is about last night, I want to apologize. I don’t know what came over me,”
“Let’s talk about your pack,”
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
“What?” I asked, trying to hide the nervousness in my voice.
“Your pack, Snowmoon Shadow Pack, is it?, Let’s talk about it,”
He said with a smirk on his face.
Something was up. What did I miss?
