Love’ss 199
Chapter 199
Madelyn stepped out of the car. Her gaze was heavy with both grievance and resentment. Andrew, still simmering from the earlier incident, softened when he saw her.
“Come here,” he said, extending his arms.
Madelyn held her ground, her eyes glistening with tears. The sight of her tears prompted Andrew to quickly close the distance between them and pull her into a tight embrace.
“Don’t cry, darling.” Andrew murmured gently against her ear.
Still upset, Madelyn pinched his waist sharply. Andrew’s lean, muscular frame barely budged.
He chuckled softly and gently rubbed her hand with tenderness.
“Did I hurt your hand?” he asked, his tone softening.
Madelyn’s voice trembled with emotion.
“You left me alone and ran off. Don’t you want me anymore?”
Andrew’s heart twisted at her words. He cradled the back of her head and kissed her deeply. How could he ever not want her?
Madelyn was the one he had nurtured and cherished all these years. He could never bring himself to let
her go.
The scent of alcohol made Madelyn shift uncomfortably, but Andrew’s embrace tightened, and his kiss became more insistent and demanding.
Madelyn’s anger and hurt flared as she recalled how he had abandoned her in the dark underground parking lot without giving her a chance to explain. In frustration, she bit down hard on his cold lips.
Andrew winced and released her. He playfully tweaked her nose.
“I didn’t know you had such a wild side.”
Earlier, when she had confronted Easton and Elena at Serenity Villa, he had thought she was just putting
on a show.
After all, Easton wouldn’t dare touch her in front of Serenity Villa, and Elena would always maintain her elegant facade. They wouldn’t have resorted to physical harm.
But seeing the photo on Roger’s phone had made Andrew realize that Madelyn was a true force to be reckoned with. She was sharp–toothed and fierce.
Madelyn huffed.
“You left me alone in the parking lot.”
She tried to pull away from Andrew’s embrace, but her small outburst only softened Andrew’s heart further. He lifted her effortlessly and carried her inside.
Madelyn struggled. Embarrassed by the amused glances from David and the housekeepers, she buried her face in Andrew’s chest.
Andrew’s smile widened as he looked at the shy Madelyn in his arms. His Initial irritation had faded, replaced by a surge of guilt that made him want to comfort her.
“I haven’t eaten,” Madelyn protested as Andrew carried her upstairs.
A little tipsy, Andrew grinned mischievously and leaned in to whisper in her ear, “Alright. I’ll make sure you get plenty to eat tonight.” NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Madelyn’s face flushed at his suggestive tone. She pinched his arm and tried to wriggle free.
I’m really hungry. I need to eat now.”
“Alright. Let’s eat,” Andrew agreed.
“I didn’t even have lunch, Madelyn said pitifully.
Andrew paused. The effects of the alcohol cleared momentarily as he met her tearful eyes.
“Why didn’t you have lunch?”
“You didn’t invite me! I tried calling you, but your phone was turned off.”
Although she had only called him in the morning and after work, she was sure Andrew’s phone had been off all day. She had been too busy at lunchtime and forgot to eat because Emma hadn’t gone to lunch either.
Andrew sobered up completely when he saw how distressed Madelyn was. He stopped heading upstairs and turned toward the dining room instead.
Madelyn sighed in relief. She had been hungry all day and wouldn’t have been able to endure his teasing. In the dining room, a feast of all Madelyn’s favorite dishes awaited them. Andrew sat with her still in his lap.
“I’d like to sit on my own, Madelyn said as she wriggled.
“Didn’t we always eat like this? Be good. No more tantrums, okay?”
Andrew held her close as he was unwilling to let go.
Knowing how upset Madelyn was, Andrew wanted to make it up to her and couldn’t bring himself to release her.
Madelyn huffed again.
“You left without me!”
