Lorraine’s face was bright red after the deep kiss as she complimented him, “Your technique has certainly improved. I liked it.”
Hearing that, Logan was left speechless.
“Alright, I gotta go now. I can’t keep the fruit wholesalers waiting, or I might not be able to make money!”
Lorraine had been focusing entirely on her career with a disinterest in dating. When she turned 27 years old, her parents could no longer stand watching her dedicate her entire life to her career and nothing else.
Her parents nagged her every single day, to the point where they were thinking of marrying her off the very first man who approached her.
Right now, Lorraine was entirely focused on making money and nothing else.
She did not have any savings and was still in debt. From the very start, her parents had already made it clear that they would not support her financially if she were to return to her hometown to grow fruits.
Lorraine, however, stubbornly stuck to her own plan and chose to borrow money from her relatives and friends, even taking out a loan from the bank.
As far as Lorraine was concerned, she knew that Logan still had some savings, and his income was not low by any means. But he had spent most of his savings to buy her a set of jewelry, and he was sending the children to the absolute best kindergarten in Glendale that cost a lot of money per month.
Their family was running thin on finances as a result, which caused Lorraine to become anxious about making more money.
Logan quietly thought to himself that his savings had not been depleted yet.
Lorraine waved goodbye to Logan and left in a hurry with her car keys in hand.
Watching the door close, Logan mumbled to himself, “She didn’t even thank me for the help, and now, she has left me alone by myself.”
He knew that all of this was his own doing as he had been deliberately deceiving her since the very start, which only caused him to be entangled in more and more lies to keep up the appearance.
Logan no longer stayed in the rental apartment after Lorraine had left. He returned to Moore Corporation and took a short rest in his office before diving back into work.
Suddenly, a knock came from the door.
Logan replied without even looking up, “Come in. It’s not locked.”
Considering that Fred did not call him beforehand, it had to be William knocking on the door.
As the door was pushed open,
the visitor was revealed to be William, indeed. He entered the room with a bag in his hand.
He headed straight toward Logan’s desk and placed the bag down while exclaiming, “Oh that’s heavy, really heavy!” Only then did Logan look up at William.
