The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 118

Chapter 118

Wyatt’s eyes flashed with an intensity, ruthlessness, and firmness that eclipsed all other emotions. That was the temperament he was born with: noble, calm, and aloof. Wyatt’s release of Ivy coincided with the arrival of the Morgan family’s butler. “Miss—Oh, you’re here as well, Mr. Reed.” Mr. Santos was taken aback. Wyatt’s face remained serene and gentle as if nothing had occurred. Ivy’s face, on the other hand, was not pleasant. She was pale and appeared to be angry. Due to the unique nature of their relationship, the butler was extra cautious. Mr. Santos took out the shawl he had prepared and respectfully handed it over upon seeing the jacket draped over Ivy. “Miss, the Chairman is expecting you at home.” Ivy inhaled deeply. She pushed Wyatt’s shoulder and stepped back, then yanked Wyatt’s jacket from her and tossed it on him. She then took over Mr. Santos’s shawl and put it on. Ivy swept a contemptuous glance at Wyatt and walked away in a huff. ‘This mendacious son of a bitch! I suppose he’s been pretending to be a gentleman all night and can’t resist revealing his true face. Hmph! How dare he make such a threat against me?! He is unable to touch me, so how is he going to approach Vince? He is nothing more than a bully!’ Mr. Santos hastened to follow. Wyatt stood there watching as the slender and lovely figure walked away in a huff. His anger subsided gradually, but his brows remained furrowed. After regaining his composure, he wondered, ‘Did I just scare her?’ Wyatt retrieved his phone and dialed his assistant Ken calmly. “Close Vince’s studio and inform him that he will be transferred to our subsidiary in the neighboring city.” “Certainly, President.” Ivy returned to the Morgan mansion; her face flushed. Cooper returned early to the study room to discuss some matters with Leo.

Sebastian intended to bathe Simba, but Simba shook its head in protest. Sebastian was taken aback by Ivy’s reappearance. “This early?” Cooper and Leo descended upon hearing the commotion. Cooper’s brows were relaxed, and he smiled gently. “Did you have a good time?” Ivy noticed them and felt a significant portion of her lousy mood lift. “Father, Big Brother... It would be best if you guys put together a generous gift for the Reeds to express your gratitude for saving my life. Otherwise, they will believe we are ungrateful.” ‘Otherwise, why would Wyatt Reed blackmail me with this pretext?! I’m sick of it!’ Cooper arched his brows and drew his lips together. “Dad and I were just discussing this. Wyatt Reed repeatedly excused himself when we contacted him some time ago. What he means is that money will not be able to resolve this...” Cooper paused and smiled meaningfully at Ivy. Ivy clenched her fists. ‘Hmph! Without Hermes, how would that son of a bitch have been able to locate me with his intelligence?!’ “Then what is he seeking?” From the side, Sebastian spoke carelessly. “Of course, marriage is the optimal situation. Wyatt Reed, that son of a bitch, is not about to pass up this opportunity. All of those material possessions are pointless. You are the most valuable member of the Morgan family.” Ivy was naturally aware of the significance of Sebastian’s words. Her face tensed slightly. Wyatt’s act tonight was fairly self-evident. He even proposed remarriage and expressed his regret. All of this, however, was absurd and meaningless to Ivy. Whether or not Wyatt was sincere made no difference. ‘He wishes to trade my life for feelings?!’ Ivy felt as if a thorn had become lodged in her heart and was extremely uncomfortable. Leo glared at Sebastian, the deadbeat, and saw Ivy’s pale face. He consoled Ivy. “Do not fear; our

family has not yet reached the point where a marriage alliance is required. If he is not interested in money, we have nothing else to offer. This will then continue to drag on indefinitely. I’m not going to let our princess marry him again, am I right? He is free to fantasize about marriage!” Sebastian thrust his tongue forward and immediately took a position. “I am on your team! Ivy has the option of choosing anyone, but not Wyatt Reed! That cretin is on our family’s blacklist!” Ivy agreed and grunted as she stood. “Hmph! He cannot possibly attempt to blackmail me with this! If the worst-case scenario occurs, I simply will not admit that he rescued me!” The three Morgan men had thick enough skin to concur with Ivy’s words. Ivy was in a much better mood once she realized this. It was nearly 11:00 p.m., and she decided to take a nice bubble bath, apply a rejuvenating mask, and prepare for bed. Ivy glanced at her phone and noticed a new friend request with a familiar all-black avatar. It was Wyatt Reed. "Normal friends" was the message he included. Ivy's lips twitched slightly as she snorted lightly. This jerk was only moments ago threatening her, warning her to stay away from Vince. Now he dares to ask to be friends? Ivy immediately declined this friend request. She was drowsy, so she hung up and went to bed. Wyatt's face sank as he saw the response on his phone. "Friend request rejected." 'Ugh, I think I just scared her!' Wyatt deemed. He'd worked tirelessly all night but made no headway. He felt desperate as if he were facing an abyss, but he was powerless to act. The night was gloomy and oppressive. Nothing was audible. Someone slept extremely well, while another remained awake the entire night.

The following day. Reed Corporation. Ken knocked on the door, inviting himself in. He approached the cold and stern Wyatt Reed who was sitting there with extreme caution. Wyatt had been in a foul mood recently. Needless to say, Wyatt must have encountered a stumbling block with Ivy. "President, Ms. Morgan's assistant, Henry, has received the $100 million for that painting." Wyatt came to a halt and gave a cold "mm". Ken continued to provide information. "We've also snubbed all funding sources for Sir Vince's studio. Additionally, his work has been completely removed from the shelves. Previously, his studio had several projects in the works, but I've already contacted the parties involved to terminate their contract. Sir Vince's studio, I believe, will go bankrupt in less than a half-day." After all, with the Reed family's clout, getting rid of such a small studio was as simple as snapping a finger. Vince could have averted all of this. He was a young man who defied his family to pursue his dreams. It was difficult for him to establish his studio, but now... all his efforts had vanished instantly! Wyatt's face was flushed with frost. He examined his watch and concluded that half a day was still excessive. The phone suddenly began to ring. That would be Vince. Wyatt didn't want to pick it up, so he turned down his call. Vince, on the other hand, was unrelenting. Wyatt's face became glummer with each call. He became irritated by the din and blocked Vince's phone number. Ken's phone rang in an instant. It was Vince. He looked conflicted as he glanced at Wyatt and then chose to hang up. "Leave," Wyatt ordered. "Indeed, sir." Ken exhaled a sigh of relief as he exited the room. Wyatt's phone rang once more. It was Don Reed. He took a moment to consider before picking it up. "I heard you closed Vince's studio?" Wyatt casually yanked his tie and spoke in a clear voice. "Yes, I intend to train him to manage a subsidiary business in a nearby city. He cannot continue risking his life for a living. I should take care of him because he's a Reed." His grandfather overheard this and agreed wholeheartedly. "You are correct..." “Great-grandpa! How did you manage to switch sides so quickly? Uncle Wyatt is merely attempting to bully me!" Vince reluctantly shouted and took over the phone. "This is inordinate, Uncle Wyatt! You managed to convince all of my investors to terminate their contracts with me?! I don't have a single penny in my bank account and am now in a heap of debt!" Wyatt did not hang up, but his gaze remained icy. His tone was neutral but conveyed a clear warning. "That is why I advised you long ago not to think about things that are not yours." Even if Vince was his nephew, he would not be a softie. Wyatt then refused to continue babbling and hung onto him.
