The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 117

Chapter 117

Wyatt approached the ticket window. His striking good looks quickly became the focal point. The attendant blushed and offered to recommend some romantic comedies to him. He was dissatisfied with it and chose the film with the earliest showing time. He frowned slightly as he noticed the couple next to him holding a large bucket of popcorn and a Coke. Ivy sat on the side, chin propped up on her hand, scrolling through her phone. She was perusing the group chat messages in which Windy and Agatha debated their ski trip location. Ivy desired to contribute, but their eyes would probably pop out of their sockets if they discovered she was out at the movies with Wyatt Reed. A college-aged gentleman approached her with a shy face. “Pardon me, Miss. May I inquire as to your affiliation with the C.U.? Which department do you belong to?” Ivy was taken aback. ‘Right, Columbia University is nearby.’ She immediately felt giddy with delight at being mistaken for a college student. “I…” Ivy was about to proceed with her explanation when the college student handed over his phone. “May I have your contact information? We have a play that is in desperate need of a female lead right now.” Ivy gave him a squinted smile. Her eyes glowed like stars. The college student was so taken with Ivy’s smile that he was unaware of the cold aura emanating from another individual behind her. As if declaring sovereignty, the man placed one hand on the back of Ivy’s chair. His eyes were gloomy as he locked his gaze on the child. From behind Ivy came a familiar and cold voice with a compelling melancholy. “What are you two discussing?” He possessed an awe-inspiring yet reserved demeanor. The Patek Philippe on his wrist was sufficient to put an end to another person’s lifetime struggles. Without speaking, anyone could tell that this man was not your average Joe.

As he withdrew his phone in defeat, the college student’s eyes grew dim. He apologized hastily and fled the scene. Ivy cast a regretful glance at the college student. Her smile dwindled as well. Wyatt took note of her altered expression. His eyes grew dim. His heart felt as if it had been submerged in ice water. It was icy and foreboding. Ivy turned her head without expression and was taken aback to see what Wyatt was holding. The bucket of popcorn and Coke in his hands looked completely out of place next to his expensive limited-edition cashmere coat. Wyatt pursed his lips unnaturally when he saw Ivy’s expression and said, “It came with the tickets.” Ivy believed it immediately. Wyatt, after all, did not appear to be the type to purchase such childish items. Ivy noticed the ticket in his hand as they entered the hall. ‘Huh! Horror film?’ Ivy entered expressionlessly. The entire hall was occupied by only two couples: them and the young couple in front of them. After all, comedies were the rage at the moment, followed by literary adaptations. As a result, there was little demand for horror films. Wyatt placed the large bucket of popcorn on the seat between them intending to sit next to Ivy. He regarded her with a frown and a look of dissatisfaction. Ivy cast a light glance at him and stated coldly, “Normal friends ought to have a sense of proportion, completely right, Mr. Reed?” Wyatt recalled what Ken had said to him earlier as he exited the gallery restaurant. “When pursuing a girl, you must exercise extreme patience. You cannot simply become enraged and leave, especially with Ms. Morgan. She is not going to fall for this ruse!” Wyatt paused for less than a split second before taking a seat across from Ivy. Before this, he did not believe he could sit down with her and watch a movie, so this was considered progress. The young couple in front of them frequently kissed and hugged each other and were highly

intimate. Especially in frightening scenes, the girl would cower in the boy’s arms. She’d even scream in an arrogant tone. “Ah! I’m scared! OMG, it’s terrifying. I’m no longer able to look!” Wyatt raised his eyes to Ivy, who stood beside him. She was simply concentrating on the large screen. Her side profile had gentle curves. Her nose bridge was prominent, and her skin was flawless throughout. Ivy sat quietly and watched the film. She was not the least bit afraid, regardless of how shocking or thrilling the sounds and scenes were. Rather than that, she was watching intently and occasionally letting out a snort. It was as if she was mocking the low-budget horror film’s ridiculous special effects. She was treating it as if it were a comedy. Wyatt’s fists were clenched tightly. All of the scenarios he envisioned in his head did not transpire. His excitement and fervor also waned with each snort. He raised his eyes and locked them on this ostensible horror film. He despised it. Ivy remained completely oblivious to the popcorn and Coke the entire time. The couple ahead of them had already become inseparable as they shared a seat. As the film neared its conclusion, Ivy looked down at her phone and tapped it a few times. She then regarded Wyatt sideways as if nothing had happened. She gave a slight frown. “Why are you staring at me, Mr. Reed?” Ivy did not purposefully conceal her voice, and when the couple in front heard her, they realized they had been followed the entire time. Wyatt’s voice was hushed and icy. “You did not state that I was unable to look at you.” Ivy was rendered speechless. Wyatt then inquired, “How come you’re not afraid?” Ivy looked at him as if he were insane. “What I experienced in the past is the true horror film,” she replied, faintly hooking up the corners of her lips. It would be odd if she were afraid of such low-budget special effects and cliché scenes.

In comparison to the film, Ivy was more concerned that the couple in front of them would be unable to contain themselves and give them a complete performance. Fortunately, that couple did not engage in any reckless behavior. Wyatt’s chest ached once more when he heard this. He looked silently at his gaze, which had reverted to its dark and deep coldness. In front, the young couple rose hastily, straightened their clothes, and walked out of the hall, heads bowed. Ivy’s phone lit up. She stood up after giving it a casual glance. “It is rapidly approaching midnight. I should return.” Wyatt rose to his feet and spoke freely. “I’ll send you back.” When Ivy reached the entrance and noticed Mr. Santos approaching them, she paused in her stride. Her voice was tinged with a faint chill. “Mr. Reed, I hope this does not happen again, even if you have rescued me. Vince is a good friend, and regardless of how our relationship develops, you have no right to interfere.” Wyatt’s reaction tonight was a little surprising. He had exceeded his authority. Vince’s sudden fear of Wyatt and his chance encounter with Wyatt’s car were self-evident. If Ivy did not convey this message, the same thing would occur again. Wyatt, of course, saw her butler as he arrived to pick her up. Nonetheless, her words caused Wyatt’s face to sink. He had spent the entire night carefully observing her emotions and making constant concessions. Being able to watch a movie with her felt like an unattainable luxury. Ivy, however, did not leave him with a glimmer of hope. Even Vince Reed was a million times more significant to her than he was! Wyatt felt as if his heart had been pounded. He was unable to breathe due to the pain. Ivy did not expect to receive a response from Wyatt and was not even interested in saying goodbye. As she approached the Theater’s entrance, the person behind her suddenly caught up with her. The man yanked her arm and pinned her against the back of a pillar with both hands.

His eyes reverted to their normal icy state. When he looked at Ivy, he felt as if the shocking waves of emotions in his eyes wanted to swallow her whole. Ivy’s shoulder was tightly squeezed by the man’s large hand. He did not attempt to conceal his rage or jealousy. He could no longer stand her indifference. His deliberately lowered voice was magnetic and clear, with an air of authoritative power that bordered on menacing. “Ivy, I also hope that this does not happen again, which is why you must avoid him. Otherwise, he will be incapable of leading a happy life. Even though I’m gentle with you and can’t bear to touch you, he’s another story.”RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
