Chapter 1047

Chapter 1047 The Main Wife Takes On The Mistress

He wanted to see Rainie.

He wanted to see Rainie.

He had just said she was his fiancée, and in the blink of an eye, he was thinking about another woman.

Wasn't this a humiliating slap in Karina's face?

Karina instinctively reached out to grab Sylvester's arm.

But he moved so quickly that she only managed to grasp a piece of his clothing.

With a forceful struggle, her palm was left empty, replaced by bone-chilling coldness.

To lose control just upon hearing Rainie's name and then claim not to love her?

Really, that woman's existence was her biggest stumbling block.

She couldn't allow her to continue influencing their lives. She had to find a way to deal with her.

With this thought in mind, she walked toward the restroom.

While strolling, she pulled her phone out of her pocket. Once she reached a quiet spot, she unlocked

the screen and dialed a number.

The call connected quickly, and she spoke first. “Mason, I've paid off the remaining three hundred

million in gambling debts for you.”

A voice filled with excitement came through the phone. “Really? Are you willing to pay off the three

hundred million in gambling debts for me?”

“Uh-huh, but you have to do something for me.”

“What is it?”

“Rainie is pregnant, and I need you to come and take her back.”

Mason was shocked, his voice trembling as he asked, “She's pregnant? Is it mine? Heavens, are you

trying to get me killed? Sylvester loves that woman so much, and I took her innocence. If it weren't for

the family elders protecting me, he would have killed me a long time ago. Now you want me to

challenge his limits so that he'll have no choice but to come after me?”

Karina's voice grew stern. “What are you afraid of? The child in her womb is yours. She even admits to

seducing you. Sylvester won't harm you.”

“But...”

“No buts. No risk, no reward. If you don't repay that three hundred million in gambling debts, you might

end up dead at their hands one day. Besides, you've always resented Sylvester overshadowing you.

Take this chance to marry the woman he loves. It's a form of revenge.”

There was a moment of contemplation on the other end of the line.

Karina added, “There are many benefits in this for you. Think about it.”

With that, she hung up the call.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Karina smiled a cold, knowing smile.

She believed Mason would come to Hallsbay.

If he didn't, she would let those creditors come after him to force him to repay the debt.

With no other options, he would have to listen to her.

Rainie, just accept your fate. You should go back to live with Mason.

Sylvester followed Bailey to the elevator.

“Bailey, hand Rainie over to me. It's time to settle things between us,” Sylvester said.

Bailey stopped, her gaze cold as she looked at him and replied in a calm voice, “What's that got to do

with me? Her legs are attached to her, not me. Am I to tie her up and hand her to you? If you want to

see her, go to the Shurmer residence. Why come to me?”

Sylvester frowned. “The Shurmer and Hollett families have business dealings. I can't barge into the Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Shurmer residence. Bailey, I just want to settle things with Rainie. Please, hand her over. This is a

matter between us and not...”

Before he could finish, Artemis rushed forward, grabbing his collar, and warned him sternly, “Mind your

manners with her.”

Sylvester fell silent.

Bailey walked up and, with a smile, pried Artemis's fingers off Sylvester's collar, leading him a few

steps back.

“Don't be angry. Getting upset over such nonsense is not worth it. He's just running his mouth, and he

wouldn't dare do anything to me. Mr. Hollett, eyes are for seeing the truth, and a brain is for deciphering

the wrong from the right. Rainie doesn't owe you anything, and you have no right to mistreat her. I won't

hold you accountable for what you've done in the past month. If you have any sense, stay far away

from her. When you find your wits again, then you can try finding her again.”

“What do you mean?”

Bailey didn't respond, and she pulled Artemis into the elevator.

Talking to this guy was pointless. He was convinced that Rainie had betrayed him, and no amount of

explanation would change his mind.

The elevator doors closed, and Bailey, still frustrated, kicked the elevator wall.

“What a fool.”

Artemis quickly comforted her, saying, “Let's not argue with fools. They're enjoying tormenting their

beloved now, but there will be consequences later.”

Bailey rubbed her temples and grumbled, “If they can't find a wife in the future, they deserve it. Each

one of them is dumber than the last, being led around by two-faced women.”

“Absolutely, my dear, you're right. They're all fools. Irredeemable fools.”

Bailey nestled into his arms and, tearing up, said, “Let's not think about this. We can't change them.

You're leaving for the Zaewora tomorrow. Let's enjoy our night together.”

Artemis blinked and asked, “How do you want to spend it? I suggest we spend our time in bed.”

Bailey chuckled. “You're incorrigible.”

At the Xuereb residence, inside the tearoom, Olivia sat in a chair, her face dark as she listened to the

butler reporting to her.

“So, what Mrs. Fletcher said wasn't groundless. That little wench from the Revelle family is really still

alive?”

“Yes, Mr. Justin has been secretly purchasing many cancer treatment drugs and corresponding health

supplements over the past two months. Furthermore, our undercover security personnel stationed at

the Revelle family's villa have confirmed that Ms. Veronique is likely still alive.”

“Darn it.” Olivia smashed the tea cup in her hand hard on the table. “To use a faked death to deceive

the world, they really have some nerves. Do you think if I were to expose this, it would ruin her

reputation entirely?”

The butler considered and suggested, “Exposure alone won't be enough. We need to wait for Mr. Justin

to go find her and then invite the reporters to catch them red-handed. It would be best if Ms. Scarlett

takes the reporters with her. When the wife confronts the mistress, I'm afraid she won't have a place in

this city.”

Olivia thought about it and found this plan appealing.

She had no time to think about her son's reputation now; her focus was solely on saving her family's

name.

“Then let's proceed this way. If Justin goes to find that woman, inform us immediately. I'll have Scarlett

take the reporters to lay in wait. The Revelle family has always prided themselves on their integrity and

high moral standards. Allowing their daughter to fake her death and then engage in an affair with a

married man, I can't wait to see how they handle this situation. Once this is exposed, I won't believe

that that little wench can still establish herself in Hallsbay.”

“Ma'am, you're absolutely right. I'll make the arrangements. I heard that Mr. Justin has gone out for a

drink; he might head to the villa to see Ms. Veronique tonight. You should get prepared with the

reporters and inform Ms. Scarlett. Things may happen at any moment, and we shouldn't be caught off

guard.”

“Very well, go ahead and arrange it. I'll handle the rest.”

Olivia's prediction was spot on, as Justin indeed headed to the villa under the influence of alcohol.

In the villa's living room, Bill sat on the couch, his cold gaze fixed on the visibly drunk Justin. He spoke

sharply.

“You're a useless piece of work. Whenever there's a problem, all you do is drink. Besides that, what

else are you good for?”

Justin, propping his eyelids open, spoke with unusual seriousness. “I didn't sign the marriage certificate

with that woman; the wedding was merely a formality. She's not my legal wife.”
