By the time Madelyn and Andrew finished their meal, it was almost 2:00 pm. Andrew was on a phone call for about 15 minutes before turning to Madelyn.

“The doctor you went to see is quite good and very recognized in the field.”

Madelyn also knew the doctor was skilled, as she had to make an appointment well in advance before she could see her.

Madelyn bobbed her head.

“Then I’ll make time to see her again.”

“I’ll have Rowan make arrangements. You don’t need to go to the hospital yourself,” Andrew replied after considering it momentarily.

The hospital had various types of germs and procedures, and he didn’t want Madelyn to go through that trouble.

Madelyn was about to subconsciously agree when the image of a small angelic face crossed her mind. She then shook her head.

“There’s no need for that.”

She inexplicably yearned to see Serena.

She might have been influenced by Melinda, the young

woman who could beg strangers for help for her child.

Since Madelyn was determined to go, Andrew didn’t try to change her mind. As such, he had Rowan handle the

appointment and queue issues,

“Why is Easton back?” Madelyn abruptly asked.

Although she knew Andrew would always get mad when Easton was mentioned, she really wanted to know.

Given Andrew’s temperament, she thought he would have prevented Easton from returning. She was puzzled about why Andrew had allowed Easton to return as an eyesore.

The current Madelyn absolutely detested Easton and couldn’t stand the sight of him.

Andrew was honest with her.

“He is a major shareholder in Horizon International Group. It’s very likely that Elijah has already acquired the company.”

Madelyn now understood why Easton was back.

If the masterminds behind this were Elijah and Easton, their return would complicate the situation.

“Of course I’m in a hurry. Matthew is as cunning as a fox. I’m worried that you’ll suffer losses” Madelyn said with concern.

Seeing her huffing and puffing made Andrew very happy.

“Am I’that easy to fool to you?”

He might not be easy to fool, but the Garcia family were basically bloodsuckers. She wondered what would happen if they secretly took advantage of him.

The current Madelyn wouldn’t let the Garcia family gain even the slightest advantage, so she remained vigilant in every way.

Andrew said, “Alright. I’m not that easy to fool. I have a meeting soon. Will you wait for me here?”

“Sure.”

Madelyn nodded obediently and sat upright when she heard he had a meeting.

He kissed her forehead,

“Be good and wait for me.”

He then left.

Not long after he left, his new secretary, Valentina Barrett, entered the office to tidy up the lunch boxes. It would seem that Janet had indeed been fired.

Valentina looked honest and reliable. Before leaving, she kindly asked Madelyn if she wanted coffee.

Madelyn didn’t refuse her offer.

She had a habit of napping, but because of Stella’s matters, she hadn’t napped and was currently groggy. Despite her sluggish mind, she wasn’t in the mood to sleep.

Valentina soon brought in the coffee, and Madelyn thanked her.

“Mr. Miller said if you’re tired, you can rest in the lounge.”

“How long will the meeting last?”

“About two hours!”

Hearing that it was going to last two hours, Madelyn felt bored and waved Valentina away.

Madelyn took two sips of the coffee when she was finally alone in the office. The bitter taste didn’t keep her awake, though.
